Guardian Makeover promotes confidence!

The highly anticipated Guardian Makeover is back! Themed Confidence Creation, Guardian’s annual health and beauty fair is reaching out to women in Peninsular Malaysia over three consecutive weekends. And, for the first time, the event empowering women with tips and tools to look good and stay healthy is being staged in three towns – at Putrajaya, Johor Bahru and Penang. I was there for the Putrajaya roadshow.

Held at IOI City Mall, Putrajaya.

Speaking at launch of the fair at Putrajaya, Christina Low, Marketing Director of Guardian Malaysia said: “We are proud to note that since 2008, thousands of women have walked into this very fair to be transformed by our team of experts. But what we do here at the fair, is more than skin deep. I have no doubt that every woman who joins this fair walks out an exuberant and more confident self. What can be more appealing than a confident woman?” “With that in mind, and to mark International Women’s Day celebrated earlier this month, we have chosen Confidence Creation, as the theme for our makeover fair. Confidence is one of the most important qualities a woman can have. Research has shown that confidence makes you approach everything differently. The ability to see one’s self-worth undoubtedly gives the boost to handle the various challenges that life throws at us. So to all the women out there – acknowledge that you are beautiful, love yourself and make healthy choices today!” she added.

The Guardian Makeover, now in its 9th year, is part of Guardian’s continuous efforts to empower women to take charge of their health and well-being. The first leg of the fair was held at Johor Bahru last weekend, where thousands participated. The fair will move to Queensbay Mall in Penang from 2-3 April 2016, where Guardian’s team of health and beauty experts are expected to assist at least another 3,000 women in confidence creation. Christina said that the overwhelming response is a sign that women are increasingly seeing the value in looking great while staying healthy and Guardian Malaysia is honoured to be a part of that.

Open to anyone with a ticket that comes with the purchase of RM50 of any participating brand, Guardian’s Confidence Creation offers a complete makeover.

Starting from hair styling, you can choose from a variety of styles in the pictures given below:

Paintball experience

I have always wanted to play paintball but haven't gotten the chance up until last week. I finally got to tick one sports off my list(it's not that many anyway because I'm not a sporty type). I always thought it would be fun to go through obstacles and shoot people LOL

The only thing I was scared of was getting bruised. As you know, I bruise very very easily. And I've heard many of my friends who played before, telling me, that if you get shot, you will definitely bruise because it hits fast and hard.

I went prepared to be bruised here and there haha because it was my first time and I have never played nor held a gun before. I wore double layer(one t shirt inside and a long sleeved shirt outside) with long pants to really guard my body hehe

The aim of the game was to either "kill" all of your opponents or touch their base, whichever the faster. Actually, the games ended quite fast. On a team of 5 against 5, it can easily finish within 5 to 10 minutes. Once you get just one shot, you're out.

So we played four games and my team did not bad for amateurs. We won twice and lost twice. In the first round, I wasn't really sure what to do so I just "main" shooting at anyone without aiming LOL Hid behind a bean bag and started shooting and tried to run forward before getting shot at -____-

Wah, the first shot was the most painful! The impact was hard and I was shot right below my neck. Luckily, I had a vest on and I wore double layer so no bruise. But you could really feel it and when the paint splashed, it splashed on my mouth and mask so I was pretty shocked in the first round haha

Knowing the impact and pain, I was very very cautious in the next 3 rounds haha. I just stood behind and be all defensive mode. While my other teammates run to move forward to touch the opponent's base, my job was to "kill" as many opponents. I did not bad lah. Although my aiming not that good, manage to 'kill' quite a few people and at one point even shot someone on the head *sorry ah*

It is very important to wear your mask at all times in the field. Werd Training Facility(literally WTF), Bandar Bukit Puchong was very very serious in their safety measures which I really liked. If you got shot, immediately move to the side but DO NOT take off your mask until you leave the field. Paint pallettes were flying everywhere and if it hits your head without a mask, it is very dangerous. It can even blind you.

Out of four games, I got shot twice. The first shot and the second shot was on my leg so I did not bad actually. No bad bruises and I survived!! Yay! I had a lot of fun and it was good strategising with teammates, communicating, be a good sport and best of all, avoid getting shot!

One thing was the weather these day is so HOT and it really wore me down. The gun was also heavy so was nursing my right hand awhile but was very proud of myself for avoiding bad bruises as a first timer hehe

3CE duo color face blush

3CE Makeup brand is a hugely popular brand from Korea. If you're a big fan of Korean makeup, you cannot miss out 3CE as one of its top brand.
It's a huge relief that this brand is now available in Malaysia!

Thanks to www.bffsays.com, I managed to get my hands on this beautiful duo color face blush!

True to its name, it's a 2 in 1 blush.

It is compact, lightweight and easy to handle.

2 beautiful colours to form a mash of hue on the cheek.

I picked Creme De Violette because of its unique lavender hue and with a blend of pink, it creates a youthful glow on the cheeks.

Firstly, swatches of the individual colour shows a matte powdery texture. It is highly pigmented so be careful not to swipe too much on the cheek otherwise it becomes unnatural.

Now, it's time to test the blend on the cheek.
The fine powder glides smoothly on the cheek without "crumbling" or "falling out".

The lavender hue brightens up the apple of the cheek and the blend of pink adds a healthy glow.
Absolutely love the mash of colours! This is quickly becoming my newest favourite blush =)

A before and after picture shows how just a swipe or two of blush makes a difference in brightening up the skin.

It's not everyday that you see a lavender blush being sold but I think 3CE found a very unique colour in the mixture which is quickly becoming one of its bestseller. The colours complement each other to create a long lasting glow.

A radiant, healthy flush, perfect for a day out!
3CE never fail to disappoint me with their products =')

I'm bringing this compact blush everywhere with me hehe!

Gods of Egypt

I have never liked watching mythical olden days type of movies. Initially, when I heard of this movie title, Gods of Egypt, I didn't think much of it. My thoughts were desert, boring army fights, sand, pyramid and the likes.

However, caught by surprise, this movie was quite entertaining and I liked it! It has action, adventure, a touch of humour, good looking people(ahem) and just nice to have me on the edge of my seat until end.

It is basically a "fantasy" film with Kings having God-like powers, transforming into their respective animals while fighting and I must say, the animation was great. The fusion of animation and real life world plus the fights was quite a good guilty pleasure of a movie.

Gerard Butler was the bad guy, Set and this movie revolves around him taking over the Egyptian empire by killing his brother and seizing the throne from his nephew, Horus. Horus would have to gain back his empire and power by defeating Set with the help of his friends.

This movie has not much of a storyline. It's pretty much built on mythology so don't try to comprehend anything haha. It's basically a laid back Sunday type of movie with your kids and family for leisure.

I didn't think I would actually like Egyptian settings, but the whole scenery and fashion was very easy on the eyes. For the guys, heads up, check out Hathor, Horus' love hehe She's quite a hottie and as for the girls, they are many hot hunks in the movie ^_^

My rating: 3 and a half stars
