Farewells

 In a sudden turn of events, we found out that we'll be migrating due to my husband's job. In less than 60 days, we have to pack everything and I had so many farewells in between. These are some of the memories. There are more and some forgot to take pictures haha but it will remain in my heart forever.

So sweet! The last time I receive balloons were on my proposal haha.

So much good food. In the months of October and November I definitely gained some weight going so many farewells lunches and dinners back to back.

Everyone who knows me knows how much I love eating crabs. So people have been treating me to a lot of crabs meals hehe

Another favourite reasonably priced restaurant for dinner & drinks that I'm going to miss @ Beer Garage, Subang.

We ordered everything for sharing and we almost ordered the entire menu that day hahaha and no complaints at all...everything finished!

Kam Heong lala was my favourite.

Grilled pork neck was the crowd's favourite. Must eat with their spicy sauce. Yummy!

My college mates brought me to Alor Gajah for one last staycation before I leave.

I also bought macarons and cake bites from Elevete for their sharing.

Both were really good. Highly recommended dessert place!

We bought our own ingredients and had our steamboat & grill session in our Airbnb hehe

I also bought dalgona candies and we played Squid Game >.< It was so much fun.

And as if dinner that we couldn't finish wasn't enough, we even went for satay celup in Malacca hahaha it was really good though. We ate at Ban Lee Siang.

Another recommended place at Ara Damansara is Jatujak Bangkok Street Food.

The crabs at Hing Kiet at Klang is one hidden gem!

Had the crabs here so many times this year alone.

Had more omakase! This time at Ichikawa Japanese Restaurant at Subang.

Appetizer was super sweet tomatoes all the way from Japan.

I don't eat raw oysters. But it's my second time trying it here and I only eat it here because it's soo fresh and yummy! Specially flown from Okinawa.

Sushi Ryu. Been wanting to try here for the longest time. Finally managed to get a booking at the very last minute.

Love that they are very generous with their ebiko and I really love ebiko haha

Their sushi were also very good. Quite a variety of sushis were served, we were very satisfied.

Ahhh my favourite dish!! Ikura! There's rice beneath and the combo was superb!

Loveee all the food in Malaysia. Hopefully food in another country is as appealing haha but nothing beats my home country. Very blessed to have so many generous friends who treated me to delicious meals. Will definitely miss Malaysia because of my family and friends <3

One & Only Desaru Coast staycation

It was a dream to be able to holiday at One & Only in Desaru Coast, Johor. One & Only is a very famous franchise and I can't believe they opened one in Malaysia! When they first opened, I was very intrigued in its luxuriousness and was dreaming to head there but then of course, we all know, Covid happened haha

When the restrictions to cross state eased, the price of the rooms hiked like nobody's business =.= The rooms weren't cheap to start of with also. But gotta make the dream come true right? So when we got the chance to fly, we flew to Johor! We weren't gona drive because it's quite a ride down south and we'll be too tired to enjoy. Instead we wanted to relax, find some friends first in Johor Bahru then only head to Desaru. When we landed in Senai airport, we rented a car for our convenience. Desaru is an hour's ride from Senai airport.

When we first reached, we already booked afternoon tea before going into the room. This is included in our package.

Afternoon tea at Dusky Monkey. The afternoon tea was not bad.

We enjoyed our tea overlooking this beautiful view.

The entire One & Only resort is covered with lush greeneries. The entire place is so huge you need a buggy to go from one end to the other end. But let's look at the room first! Our room was HUGE! It's probably the biggest hotel room we stayed in.

We stayed in Ocean Junior Suite room.

There's a private swimming pool with bed rest.

Near the pool, there's a dining table to have your meals.

Some complimentary wine and desserts.

They have Haiku fan in the room and in the bathroom. All the best technology only.

Very customer oriented. Non slip mat with headrest. So awesome!

Bath foam gel was also provided for the best bath experience.

Totally enjoyed my bath experience my entire stay. 2 thumbs up. Big enough for 2 people as well.

There's some space outside with long sofa to rest and hang out or enjoy a glass of wine.

Turndown service includes this step pillow which was so soft!

In the library, you can play congkak haha. There's nothing much to be done at night because most restaurants in the resorts were closed after 7pm that time I think is because of Covid SOP? But the resort rooms were fully booked. Hence, why we decided to hang in the library to play congkak instead LOL

We got to rent a bike to ride around the beach.

Desaru's beach was rocky. Datai Langkawi's beach was much nicer and powdery.

The games area in One & Only was a huge area. There were so many courts.

They even have a court to play 'Pedal'.

It's a game from Brazil and it's the first Pedal court in Malaysia. It's a combo of squash and tennis. Quite fun to play!

Another new game called Teqball. There will be someone who will teach and play with you as well. So fun!

We joined some complimentary activity like this Teh Tarik making activity hehe.

During the activity, we met Executive Chef David Dahlhaus who was very passionate.

He offered to make us this teh tarik dessert-one of his super creative creation <3

And this nasi lemak dessert creation! Really yummy! We loved them.

He even brought us around and showed us the area. Thank you chef for taking the time to entertain us!

Rested at the beach club with sea breeze with some yummy afternoon treats. Thank you manager Vijay who happened to be our high school friend who we bumped into for the good food and again for entertaining us. 

We totally enjoyed our stay in OODC more so with the friendly people we met there. However, they do not have an all inclusive package and so the room itself with that kind of price was a bit steep. Service wise, it could definitely use some improvements. Breakfast service was slow and with that kind of price you pay, you would expect top notch service. I guess it did fell abit below expectation. I would say Datai had the best service so far but OODC had the best room with the best technologies by far. Oh well, I did get to stay in my dream place after all hehehhe
