World Cup Fever

World Cup 2010 is in 5 days time!! Woo-hoo I'm very excited...Yes, I may be a girl but who says a girl cant love football too? I may not love it as much as guys do but I'm still a football fan. I do follow English Premier League matches with my father, that is! This is also an advantage where I can actually communicate with guys about footballs. I may also be a tad more interested in those footballers' looks but whatever...

Anyway, World Cup does bring a lot of memories from high school. I remembered the previous World Cup was in 2006 in Germany and it was my first time I was really brought into the football world. I didn't know much about football back then unless when my father watches it during weekends or waking up in the wee hours of the morning to watch his favourite team play. But other than that, I only knew basic things like 22 men chasing after one ball. Yeah, that's about it *laughs*

But after the 2006 world cup, it got me really interested in football. It helps that most of my friends are into it too. We had different favourite teams. I remembered I used to wake up in the wee hours to watch teams play and then I found out my father and brother was already downstairs watching LOL so we all watched together and made my mom go crazy with all the shoutings hahaha....but she was cool with it! She even watched with us sometimes...

Then I would go to school all watery eyes because of the yawning and the tiredness. I would yawn so many times in class that my friends said I should really stop watching games in the morning already hehe..Yeah, going down memory lane. This time it would be different though. I do not have classes for one so i can wake up and sleep anytime I want this world cup. Now, i can tease my father coz HE has to go to work while I can sleep at home after a game hahaha (i know I'm mean =p)

My family is all geared up for world cup. We changed to Astro Byond just for world cup so that we could watch all 64 matches in HD. I must say, football in HD is super clear! Loving it =))

I support England all the way. I supported it last World Cup and have never stopped supporting England. Although they may not have a good chance in winning but it's allright. It's sad that Rio Ferdinand, the captain could not play due to a very very last minute injury. Poor him! I would be devastated after being excited of entering into the World Cup and becoming captain only to be sent back right before it. I am also saddened that David Beckham could not make it to this world cup due to his injury *cries very loudly* It was supposed to be his last and now he cant play =(

Previously, I said I didn't know much about football until the last World Cup. Well, I only knew one football player throughout my primary and secondary school life prior to the World Cup- that is David Beckham. I've known David Beckham since young and I've loved him ever since. Not only he's super HOT, but he is also fantastic in his free kick and a good player.

Mind you, he's the reason I won my first ever public speaking. I spoke about him in the impromptu session and I'm not kidding when I say I spoke about how HOT he looked shirtless! Well, I guess the judges agreed with me *laughs*

Oh well, since he cant play in this world cup, he did fly to South Africa with the team and he's there for encouragement I guess. If the camera could at least show a cameo of him I'll be happy! Haha...What can I say, I'm a die hard Beckham fan!!

I'm sure everyone out there is excited about the coming World Cup! As they said, some will eat football, bathe football, talk football and even sleep football. It's the World Cup fever! All shopping complexes are promoting it, newspapers having advertisements with Lionel Messi and Frank Lampard on it, everyone's already talking about it, so this time it'll be huge I guess!

Fashion

 I know celebrities are being looked upon whether about their fashion styles, their lifestyles, their music and so on. So I don't get it when celebrities dress this way:

                                 

In the first two pictures, where's lindsay's and taylor's bras? and pictures below, where's taylor's and lindsay's pants??! Taylor Momsen from Gossip Girl and Lindsay Lohan have a reputation for trashy dressing. Mind you, Taylor is only 17 years old. My mother would kill me if I were to even step foot out of my house wearing like that- literally! They should really hire a stylist! They're giving bad impression to girls..

Megan Fox, on the other hand, I know many would disagree with me, has a better fashion sense. Although she dresses so very sexily at least she looks sexy. The pictures above does not even come by as SEXY!

Yeap, definitely the better fashion! My favourite is the purple dress although the slit may be too high...Megan Fox is undeniably hot!

I think there are a few female celebrities that have a really good fashion sense.

Whether Nicole is pregnant or not, she exudes elegance and beauty. She's my all time favourite. She has timeless beauty. A mother of three kids, she's still a super stylish mother!

Kate Beckinsale is another lady who is very beautiful! I love her fashion. She could never go wrong. In fact, she hasnt gone wrong at any red carpet events in my opinion. I think she could carry mermaid dresses the best because of her svelte figure.

Carrie Underwood is one person that could carry colours and patterns. She looks best in colours rather than plain black or white. She has that sweetheart country singer face that any beautiful dresses would match her perfectly.

Another country singer. I think country singers dress the best because they are not so funky like lady gaga, rihanna or christina aguilera. They are more relaxed in nature and their dress sense reflects that. Lindsay and Tyalor Momsen should learn from this teenage sweetheart! Her fashion sense up to now has received great fashion reviews from various tabloids.

Last but not least, the red hot German supermodel mama! After four children, Heidi Klum could still walk the runway with a flat tummy! You've got to salute this supermodel! Of all Victoria's Secret models, I love her the most...She has a great personality and a great fashion sense! Unlike her counterpart, Tyra Banks who failed miserably at the red carpet, Heidi does everything right on the red carpet!

I'm not an expert on fashion but I do know a thing or two about dressing stylishly. I'm a girl after all! These are just my outlook on how those celebrities dress. I may be right, I may be wrong but everyone's a critic!

Go Green!

So today 'The Star' newspaper is going green for World Environment Day. Galaxie magazine has gone green in their previous issue. Gucci, the brand went green. Shopping centres pledged to go green by declaring Saturdays as 'No plastic bags day'. Nike went green with their World Cup uniforms which were made from discarded plastic bottles. Celebrities such as Jason Mraz, Brad Pitt, Jessica Elba and Emma Watson are doing what they can to be greener. 

You get the picture. There are many efforts to go green because there is a risk of completely using up valuable resources in the country and reducing natural heritage to nothing. Earth Hour happened where everyone is encouraged to off their lights for one hour to create climate awareness for a sustainable future. 

The world is getting hotter due to global warming, the ozone layer is vanishing, icebergs are melting which will eventually rise the sea level, it will then flood countries!

We should all do our part in helping the environment. In my house, we recycle old newspapers and aluminium cans. We use energy saving bulbs for most part of the house. Besides, I do not let the tap running while brushing my teeth, I mostly take train to college which reduces my carbon footprint and also I do not use the lift in the second college building(Koponas) which saves electricity- actually it's because it always breaks down but still! =p

I do believe in going green. If we could all do our little part in helping the environment then perhaps we have a better future for our kids.
   

Babies

It's no surprise to my friends that I absolutely LOVE and ADORE babies...I think babies are the most innocent being in this world as they have not experienced life yet and only knows how to cry and want milk hehe

I have 12 younger girl cousins and 1 baby boy cousin presently...I know babies LOL I play with them and I can say I'm pretty good with children. They are just so fun and all they want to do is just play, run around, shout, sing songs and be cute =) Although I know not all children are like that. Some are rascals, so naughty you cannot hit them because they are small kids and sometimes you cannot help but to bring out the 'rotan'...Lucky for me I havent come across these kind of kids- yet!

There a few celebrity babies that I think are the cutest little thing in this world *smiles*

Suri Cruise hands down beat all other babies by being the cutest in Hollywood. Of course, it helps that her parents are the handsome Tom Cruise and sweetheart Katie Holmes. She's so adorable she could bypass as a doll- literally! Her fashion sense is better than her mom actually and though Katie Holmes was blamed for letting Suri wear high heels at such a young age, Katie said Suri picked all her clothes and shoes herself. So young and yet has great fashion sense. I want her as a daughter too!!

Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt have the biggest eyes in babies haha...My gosh! Arent they super adorable. These are Brad and Angelina's biological twins and of course they came out right! Brad Pitt was so handsome when he was young however now he looks rugged with his beard. If his son turns out even 50% of how he looks, I think Knox will be just fine with the girls =p Vivienne, on the other hand, having a sultry and sexy mom like Ange(although I'm not really a big fan of Ange) would be alright too with the guys LOLZ

Kingston Rossdale is the son of Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale. He is so cute and I guess he got the fashion gene from his mom because he's quite a fashionistar. I think suri cruise and him can go together haha and they can make a fashion line and be rich! Oh, Kingston hates the paparazzi and because of the noises from the paps, Gwen would usually put earphones to him so that he wouldn't be irritated. How nice and creative =) With rockstar parents, he may be one someday haha


Aren't all these babies adorable. This brings me to the question, why is there child abuse in this world? Why would any parent abuse their own children? I may not be in a position to talk about this because I'm not a parent myself, but I do know you shouldn't hurt anyone especially not your own children. If you do not want to care for your own child, there are many childless couples who would happily do so for you. Give them up for adoption for a better life rather than transferring all your anger on them when you're drunk, angry or when life sucks. Life has its ups and downs, it doesn't mean when there are down times you get the right to abuse your child.

There are many articles on child abuse these days in the newspaper. It hurts to see all the bruises a child has to suffer from the coward actions of their parents. Some even die due to internal bleedings. All these mistreatment should stop. When a child grows up, it would affect him/her mentally if not physically. Every child has the right to grow up safe from harm, abuse and violence.

Gossip

I know I have been subjected to much gossip in my life...Let me tell you firsthand, it's not nice! It's not nice to spread untrue rumours about people, it's not nice to spoil people's image, it's not nice to wreck people's life and it's definitely not nice to go about talking untrue facts which blows out of proportion.

I'm not merely referring to minor gossip about who is he/she with, who he/she angered, what he/she did that so irritated you, but spreading really UNTRUE facts about people's life and making up stories. Trust me, I've been asked many things that I myself was shocked beacuse it didnt even happened to me...like seriously??!

This is a definition from wikipedia:  Gossip is idle talk or rumour, especially about the personal or private affairs of others. It forms one of the oldest and most common means of sharing (unproven) facts and views, but also has a reputation for the introduction of errors and other variations into the information transmitted. The term also carries implications that the news so transmitted (usually) has a personal or trivial nature, as opposed to normal conversation.


Let me emphasise the "UNPROVEN FACTS"...These are NOT proven. So, the next time you want to spread rumours about other people, at least have the courtesy of proving it first. Otherwise, keep it to yourself. Life would be much better that way.

Celebrities are THE people to have been subjected to most rumours. Tabloids such as US weekly, life and style, OK!, Hello and many others are top-notch magazines to spread those gossips. Celebrities had to deny rumours then and again to avoid it being blown out of proportion...

Here are some ridiculous rumours that I've heard; Zach Braff, the actor from Scrubs have committed suicide(ahem, he is very much alive), Michael Jackson's death is just some scam to popularize him and that on the day of his burial he will come out from his hiding place(this is really WTF!), Kim Kardasian is Justin Bieber's girlfriend(I'm rolling on the floor laughing now!), Lady Gaga has a penis(she may have ridiculous outfit at times, but come on! She's a lady and this is the most ridiculous rumour ever. Btw, she has proven herself in her 'telephone' video that she is very much a lady if you watched the uncensored version)

Now, the rumours that have been denied time and again; Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson are together, Mariah Carey is pregnant, Matthew morrison(from Glee) is gay, 50 cent is gay(hmm, though he did not comment on that) I really do not care if R.Pattz is with Kristen though I ship them, or whether Mariah is pregnant or whether Matthew and 50 cent are gay because these are very talented people. Why must these rumours overshadow their acting or music skills??!

I read this book called 'Gossip' which was made into a movie

Both the book and the movie were entertaining. It's about this gossip that turned awry and fatal. Because of one silly rumour, it wrecked the lives of 4 teenagers.

Also, I do watch Gossip Girl as stated in the previous post, but did not read the books. It really showed how a rumour could spread so fast through means of technology and the characters' private lives are not private anymore as every single details of their lives are being published by 'Gossip Girl'

See how irritating, annoying and hateful a rumour can be? What if it happens to you? How would you react? Bottom line is, do not spread untrue rumours about people because you never know how it could affect someone. It may present such a distorted picture that no one may ever want to friend that person. So, "Do not do to others what you would not want done to you."

The Shopaholic is back!!

After much deprivation of shopping, I could finally break a leg while shopping LOLZ...I'm a self-declared shopaholic. I'll have withdrawal syptoms if I dont shop. Even during exams, since I did not go out, I resorted to e-shopping *smacks head* I'm that bad!!

Well, lucky me there's e-shopping! It's actually quite convenient, though the downside is that you cannot actually feel the clothes and try them..Hmm, I'm particularly very concerned about trying outfits to see whether it fits, so I do not really buy much online.

But now, I could actually shop in real stores haha so the shopaholic's back!! The first time in 1 month I went to sunway pyramid, I was drowned in all the sales. I was in heaven hehe...Even my dad laughed at me when I saw those shoes on sales and i got really excited *laughs*

So it's no surprise that I love the movie, 'Confessions of a shopaholic'

  




Rebecca Bloomwood, the lead female is the worst shopaholic ever..I mean I'm definitely not like her. It was a nice movie and it shows how being a shopaholic is actually a sickness haha...She could not control her spending and ended up in a huge amount of debt.

I am actually a thrifty shopper. I do not splurge on large amount of money for one thing. I do not believe in spending hundreds of ringgit for one small clutch or a dress for that matter. I believe in buying nice stuffs with a reasonable price. Thus, sales is my biggest weakness *smiles sheepishly* You can actually get a really good bargain during sales if you find the right shop =)

I do believe retail therapy is a stress reliever especially for ladies. Of course, I would say that hehe So, shopping is not really that bad...Let's shop till we drop!

TV addict

Since I've been super free ever since holiday started, I've been keeping up with my TV shows that I've missed during exams. Boy, do I miss all my weekly dramas and comedies haha

There are hundreds of TV shows airing in America in TV networks such as ABC, CW network, Fox, NBC and CBS. I know these because I'm a sucker for English dramas and not others like Korean, Japanese and sort of. I used to love Spanish and Phillipines soap dramas...I still remember when I was in high school, I used to wake up after my afternoon nap just to be in time to watch those dramas. However, our local TV network do not show nice Spanish and Phillipines dramas anymore so now I'm totally addicted to English dramas *laughs*

I have been a TV show addict since forever. TV is like a drug to me. Oh, that idiot box! These are some of the shows I'm addicted to:

One Tree Hill is my favourite TV show of all time...I have been following this series since high school and have never stopped. It's now in season 7 going season 8 and I must say it's still strong with fantastic storylines and very handsome actors =p It used to have Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton but they did not renew their contract for season 7 so they were replaced by Robert Buckley and Shantel Van Santen. I'm not complaining since this couple could give Chad and Hilarie a run for their money =) I ship Naley forever *smiles*

Okay this is my second favourite TV show of all time. Although Gossip Girl have gone through much criticms for its OMFG moments, it's surviving strong going into it's 4th season. I must say the season 3 finale has its OMFG moments and by that i do not mean the sex, but the drama and twisted plots. I really love Josh Schwartz, the writer who also wrote The O.C before(which was my another fav TV show until it got cancelled) He has great skills and the characters are never boring. I ship Chair <3

The Vampire diaries is a new series. I thought it was going to be a copycat of Twilight but it's definitely much darker, more interesting, much more malicious villains, deaths and shocking storylines. I LOVE this show. I fell in love with it after the pilot. It also helps that Ian Somerhalder(the guy on the right) is superbly HOT but i ship Stefan(left) and Elena because he's the better brother.

Grey's anatomy is different. I'll be bored if I were to watch all teenage dramas. This show is more about medical drama and love stories. I like that it's suspenseful and also partly due to Patrick Dempsey(Derek "Mcdreamy" Shepherd) is acting. I think if he were to leave the show, I'll stop watching *laughs* so undoubtedly I ship MerDer. It's a good family drama. Sometimes, i watch it with my mom haha

90210 is the remake of the previous Beverly Hills 90210. This is a typical teenage high school drama. It used to be fun in season 1 but going into season 2, much criticisms ensued due to the lack of storylines. I might stop watching it because it's getting boring but we'll see because I havent watch the last three episodes of season 2 yet. If there's a good cliffhanger or some sort I may continue watching season 3...

Okay I like the good wife. It's a new series and I watch it in Astro. Julianna Margulies is a good actress and she even won the Golden Globes for Best Actress in a drama series. I found out about this show after watching the Golden Globes actually. She's a lawyer and I aspire to be like her =)

I only like Glee because of the songs. I do not like it's drama. As I said before OTH and GG offers much much better dramas than any other TV. But i feel their rendition of popular songs are really not bad. They can really sing and dance. I'm not really a gleek but it's entertaining. I like Will Schuester hehe


So yeah these are just some of the TV shows I'm addicted to. I was addicted to more but some got cancelled such as Prison Break, Las Vegas and previously The O.C, Charmed and so much more. Sometimes, I do watch Desperate Housewives, Ugly Betty, reruns of The Nanny and Everybody Loves Raymond when they are shown but not really addicted. I also like reality TV like Biggest Loser, The amazing race, American Idol, Beauty and the Geek and more...

WOW!! Now that I've listed it all down i just realised I've been watching too many shows *laughs* on top of that, I'm also into movies. I think I've spent half of my life on shows =p I cant cut it down because I'm a TV addict and there's really nothing i could do about it =p
