Met Gala 2013 red carpet

The annual Costume Institute Benefit or most famously known as the Met Gala is back this year with a 'Punk theme'! Finally, after all the boring awards red carpet stint, celebrities are finally making waves with fashionable frocks. They made their way into the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC and here are some worth looking at...

Nina Dobrev donned a unique Monique Lhuillier piece. It's a jumpsuit inside with an outer sheer skirt.
Definitely something punk from Nina!

Beyoncé Knowles showed her bootylicious side in a Givenchy Haute Couture gown and matching boots.

Anne Hathaway  really adhered to the punk theme as she went platinum blonde and that vintage Valentino gown from 1992 is so sheer I'm not sure if there's anything to cover her assets O.O

Cameron Diaz in a bold purple Stella McCartney cape gown.

Dakota Fanning in Rodarte. Her whole back is covered by sheer material with wings pattern.

Blake Lively stunned in a Gucci frock!

Amanda Seyfried admitted she did not go punk but rather vintage in this Givenchy gown. Nevertheless, it still looks gorgeous!

Emma Watson a bit daring in a sexy cutout dress designed by Prabal Gurung. Loving this whole grown up look.

Gwen Stefani in a custom look specially designed for her by Maison Martin Margiela.

Gwyneth Paltrow in a bold pink gown with a sheer panel from Valentino. A bit too safe and boring for me. She can definitely do so much better!

Heidi Klum looked her usual stunning self in Marchesa. Looks a bit like a wedding dress.

Jessica Alba in Tory Burch. Is it me or does she look a bit too tanned?

Kate Beckinsale was decked out in a pink Alberta Ferretti dress.

Taylor Swift in her favourite designer, J. Mendel gown. She has been donning the same style of dresses over and over again. Time to mix it up already. At least her dramatic smoky makeup, and a slicked-back hairdo followed the punk theme.

Miranda Kerr sexy as always and in this black Michael Kors cutout dress. I always say Orlando Bloom is so lucky to have this Victoria's Secret angel as his wife!

Kate Bosworth in a pink embellished look by Balmain. One of the very few in short dresses.

Olivia Wilde in Calvin Klein's signature simple dress.

Katie Holmes also in a white Calvin Klein gown. She made heads turn in this backless flowy gown.

Sooo much fun to see all these gorgeous fashion! They went all out to come dressed in their best for this Ball. Some adhered strictly to the theme while others didn't. Nevertheless, fashion pages will surely have a hard time determining best dressed!
