On checkout day from Disneyland Hotel, we went to the park. It was a Monday so it wasn't too crowded. That being said, there were still many people in the park. But just keep this in mind, you may want to plan your park visit during winter instead of summer because boy, were we sunburnt at the end of the day! It was shining wayy too brightly and we underestimated the sun in Hong Kong.
It doesn't help that you have to keep wearing your masks while being all sweaty and sticky and imagine queuing up for rides under that weather. Luckily, we went on a weekday where the queue was still bearable and we came prepared with cold disposable towels from Don Don Donki and brought a mini fan and water was a lifesaver.
Now, let's get into the park! It's not huge so you can definitely explore the entire park within a day.
The castle was previously renovated and is now as beautiful as ever!
If you're a Marvel fan, there is a wing specifically for Marvel fans.
We started off with the Ant Man and the Wasp ride which was quite fun because we get to play some laser tag while at it and earn points and you can compare among your friends hehe
Then there's the Iron Man experience. It was a 4D experience.
I love both Marvel rides because they really had the characters talking to you just for these rides and special appearances too. You have to ride it to know hehe.
There were 2 most scary rides in the park for me. The first being the Hyperspace Mountain.
If you're scared of roller coaster then maybe this is not for you haha because you don't see people shouting outside like normal roller coaster rides as this was indoor so you don't know what is it about until you ride it haha..but when you ride it, it is too late LOL It was real fun though!
Then we went to the 'It's a small world' wing and gahh, the whole setup was soo beautiful!
Just look at this background! The amount of details!
The ride was quite fun and very suitable for kids. But if you're scared of dolls, maybe this is not for you lol After a scary ride, it was good to sit through this beautiful ride.
Then we met Winnie The Pooh!!
Unfortunately due to Covid, we are not able to hug or stand near the characters to take picture. They could only stand at the background *sad*
We then went on the Winnie The Pooh ride which was also really just for kids.
Then there's performances to watch.
Saw so many characters that day =))
Watched Mickey and the Wondrous Book in the theatre. At that point, we just wanted to sit indoors with aircond because the heat was getting to us.
Then we stopped for some lunch.
There were many bakery selling so many cute stuffs. I got this Minnie doughnut hehe
Now the second most scary ride was this Big Grizzly Mountain ride.
Roller coaster lovers, this ride is for you hahaha!
Then there's the parade!
The parade was quite disappointing though. The characters just danced repetitively throughout.
It was a far cry from
Paris Disneyland. In Paris, they had performances during the parade and at the end of the day, there were fireworks and animations at the castle. In Hong Kong, there were no animations at the castle and no fireworks *sad* Plus, there were more rides that cater to children than adults in HK. But if you're here just to be among the characters and enjoy the environment, it is definitely a good experience nonetheless.
If you stay at the hotel, the hotel would even drop off your luggage at the entrance of the park so that you don't need to go back to the hotel to collect your luggage when you go back. Overall, before you go into HK Disneyland Park, check the weather. The weather is quite erractic here. It could be raining and it will spoil your experience and if it's too hot, prepare umbrella, sunscreen, fan and water. All in all, remember to just have fun!
