From Paris with love

This New Year was the best ever! It was my first ever New Year celebrating overseas and it was really fun! We went to Paris and Iceland right after Christmas and spent 2 weeks overseas.

So we took the flight to Paris using Singapore Airlines and I have to say, it was very comfortable. I was a bit scared at first because we only took one transit to Singapore and after that straight 14 hours from Singapore to Paris! But lucky us, there was no one that was seated beside us and in front as well as behind us!

Final Asian meal before the European feast haha

Had an ice cream with gin & tonic and knocked off for the rest of the flight hehe

We touched down in Paris quite early around 7.30am so we couldn't check in to our Airbnb yet. But, we managed to put out bags first then only strolled around. We didn't expect Paris to be very cold around -2 to 4 degrees. I was also warned that Parisians can be a bit rude but our journey throughout, we were very blessed with friendly people and I guess they have learned the English language and most people conversed in English to us.
Our first stop: The Louvre

The line was crazy to buy tickets! So warning, if you want to go into the Louvre, better buy tickets first before reaching. We decided to not go into the museum and just take pictures outside haha

Then we went to the "Love Lock" bridge. But it's now all glass.

But people still found some places to lock them *laughs*

Then we went to Champs Elysees to check out the brands and prices and found out we definitely have to re-visit because after VAT, the bags are cheaper here than in Malaysia!!
I'm coming back for you hehe

Too many people queing so had to come back another day.

We really walked so much on the first day! Along Champs Elysees, you can find the famous Laduree.
Can't help it but had to buy their macarons.

So many flavours to choose from.

The next day we took the Hop On Hop Off bus tour and we managed to see many tourist attractions without the need of going there ourselves. This is the Arc De Triomphe
All from the comfort of the bus top. But it was so cold and windy! I think this is best done during summer haha otherwise during winter, sit downstairs is warmer.

We saw the Eiffel Tower from far.
And will revisit another day when we walk around.

Had a Parisian brunch.
Foie Gras with bread. Wow! First time eating foie gras in this cube type. But it was really yummy!

And then we stopped at Champs Elysees for a shopping spree Weeeee~

So happy with my purchase =) Been wanting this for a long time!

Then we went on to LV. I cannot believe how many people were queuing to go inside and it was massive! It's like FREEE *laughs*

Ok shopping done for the next 5 years LOL

And we went to this famous fast food restaurant that we needed to queue also haha
FIVE GUYS!
Mamma Mia so unhealthy but really yummy. We even had second rounds!

Filled til the next morning!

The next day, we went to see the famous Eiffel Tower.
So we were around there and sat the Seine river cruise.

But you MUST see the Eiffel Tower light up at night. It was really beautiful and it will blink from time to time. Dream came true <3

We were exhausted with walking the whole day and so the next day we were more chilled. We went to Galeries Lafayette for indoor shopping. The brands in Champs Elysees and here were almost the same but at least inside the mall is warmer.
Beautiful Christmas tree.

At the top of Galeries Lafayette is an outdoor balcony. The weather was sunny and you can chill here.

Hot chocolate all the way in winter!

And then we walked past a Christmas market and it was beautiful.
My first Christmas market =)
Drank hot wine.

Pretzel.

Sugar coated doughnuts. I really love their pastries here and their breads, croissants etc are all very fluffy.

On NYE, we went to the happiest place on earth!
DISNEYLAND!!!
My heart skipped a beat.

I have always seen the beautiful pink castle in pictures and finally managed to step foot into my first ever Disneyland.

The Christmas parades were awesome! So much effort!

There were 2 parks- Disneyland and Walt Disney Studios. I bought the 1 day 2 parks pass from Klook so we managed to conquer 2 parks.
The Walt Disney Studios were more for adults I would say. Had a lot of fun watching motor stunt show, how movies were made and sat one of the scariest ride in there HAHA

At night, we went back to Disneyland Park and watched the Dreams show.
The castle lighted up to many animations =)

So beautiful

Elsa

The fireworks were super amazing! I love it so much. It was a great NYE for us and to watch this was another dream come true =)

The transportation in Paris however was a bit tough because of the metro strike. Unfortunately, we went during the strike and most metro stations were closed. So we had to find many alternatives to get around. Luckily, our Airbnb was nearby 1 metro station and it was the only one out of 2 stations that were opened. However, on NYE, they were still on strike and even that closed down =( So, we had to find many other alternatives to get back. The ride back was adventurous but thanks to google map and my husband, we arrived home safely hehe

When going to Paris, you just need to beware of scammers. Don't speak to people who apparently want your 'signature' for some charity organisations and always be careful of your bags and belongings. We were very careful and we didn't have any pick pocket incidents thank God. We see other people were also very weary and we were finding it quite hard for people to take couple pictures of us haha because we find it hard to trust people and when we found someone we think we can trust, the person actually rejected us! LOL, I guess they were scared as well! Nvm, we minded our own business and did a lot of selfies *laughs*

Nevertheless, we had so much fun! I thoroughly enjoyed Paris and its shopping especially LMAO! Disneyland was the highlight definitely and it was one of the experience I would really treasure in my lifetime. I would say, it was quite a good timing to come during winter and Christmas time to see the decorations, Christmas market and people were still happy in the Christmas and New Year's spirit. After that, we flew off to Iceland. See you in the next post!

L’Oréal Paris Two-Step Regime

As a global total beauty care brand, L’Oréal offers men and women on every continent beauty and personal care products that are enhanced with the latest scientific advancements. For Malaysians, the brand has just unveiled an anti-aging, skin-repairing regimen tailored for the country’s tropical weather.

Say hello to youthful skin that glows from within by including two key products in your daily skincare regimen:

The L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Crystal Micro-Essence...

...and the newly improved L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Day Cream with enriched Pro-Retinol A and SPF35 PA++!

Recognising that women are leading increasingly busy lives and careers, the brand has designed its skincare regimen to deliver quick and confidence-boosting results, leaving more time for women to put their best foot forward at work or at home.

Think L’Oréal Paris, and the next phrase that pops into our heads would likely be “Because you're worth it”. This signature phrase is known around the world and represents the essence of the L’Oréal Paris brand as a whole – the spirit to help every woman embrace her unique beauty while reinforcing her sense of self-worth.

The L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Crystal Micro-Essence is an extension of the brand’s celebration of women’s beauty and confidence. Launched in 2019, the product is formulated to deeply repair, plump and hydrate skin. Powered by micronised technology, it has an ultra-lightweight texture, which allows for quick absorption and penetration as deep as 10 times the skin layer. This boosts the skin smoothness and radiance on the surface.

Just took a quick test on my skin hydration

After the Revitalift Crystal Micro-Essence application and within only a few seconds...

Look at the results!!
It's amazing! How fast the skin became hydrated was absolutely mind blowing.

Achieving crystal clear, radiant skin could not be simpler. Every morning, start your skincare regimen with Revitalift Crystal Micro-Essence after cleansing and toning.
Shake four drops onto palm and gently warm it up by rubbing your palms together. Then, use your essence-coated palms to gently pat your face, starting with the forehead, the cheeks and finish with the chin, until the essence is absorbed into skin.

The L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Crystal Micro-Essence is enriched with 92% purity centella extract, which is derived from centella asiatica, a perennial plant which grows in the wetlands of Asia. It can deeply repair and boost skin elasticity, thanks to its combination of highly-concentrated flavonoids, triterpenic steroids, amino acids, and sugars. Not only that, the plant shines in its ability to moisturise dry skin because of its powerful anti-oxidative properties. Other than revitalising skin barrier, centella asiatica is also prized for its ability to mitigate the sun’s damaging effect on skin.

Finally, apply a dollop of the Revitalift Day Cream evenly on the face in a circular motion. The new and improved L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Day Cream seals the anti-ageing, skin-revitalising deal of the two-step regimen. The product combines cutting-edge technology with high quality formulation, delivering measurable results as quickly as seven days for Asian skin. In clinical tests, users reported seeing 17% reduced dullness, and 21% reduction of fine lines on the forehead. And that’s it! Your skincare routine is complete, leaving you ready to wow with improved skin texture, refined pores and a youthful complexion.

Speaking at the launch was Dr. Kartini Farah Rahim, Consultant Dermatologist at AVISENA Specialist Hospital explained that Malaysia is blessed with abundant sunlight all year round, but the ultraviolet (UV) rays from the sun can damage our skin and lead to wrinkles – also known as photo-aging. This is why, on top of centella asiatica, the L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Day Cream is enhanced with Pro-Retinol, which is a powerful but also gentle agent in the retinoid family that reduces the effects of photo-aging on skin.

Also at the launch party was Malaysian actress Siti Saleha. For Siti, the combination of the micro-essence and day cream has worked wonders. Her work requires her to perform her best on screen, and she needs to be at her 100 percent to do so. This includes having a flawless and healthy complexion.

“Since starting the two-step routine, my skin looks and feels like new, and my glowing complexion radiates confidence. Of course, the quick and simple regimen also suits my hectic schedule just fine!” she said.

Regain crystal clear, radiant skin today in just two easy steps! The L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Crystal Micro-Essence is now available at pharmacies and major retail outlets nationwide in two sizes -- 65ml retailing at RM49.90; and 130ml retailing at RM79.90.

As for the L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Day Cream SPF35 PA++, it is retailing in stores nationwide starting January 2020 in two sizes: 50ml (RM63.40) and 20ml (RM29.90).

Thank you L’Oréal for having us!

Premier Clinic Mont Kiara

Premier Clinic Solaris Mont Kiara had their opening celebration last week and it was filled with fun activities.

Opening speech by Dr Chen Tai Ho, the founder of Premier Clinic welcoming us to the event.

Premier Clinic is a leading aesthetic provider in Malaysia with innovative and effective procedures. Their service consist of top-to-toe aesthetic procedures to enhance your appearance. They were voted Top 3 Aesthetic Clinic in Klang Valley by thousands of voters.

Dr Foo Wing Jian runs this branch and he is a doctor who specialises in reviving hair loss. So, if you have any hair loss problems, you know who to look for. Also, Premier Clinic was awarded Top Hair Transplant Provider in Asia Pacific in 2019.

So what causes hair loss?
-Hormonal changes
-Medical conditions
-Obsessive stress
-Genetic/Hereditary
-Medication
-Lack of Protein/Iron
-Poor diet

This is Dr Foo himself when he was 18 who suffered from hair loss and now after treatment. Because of this own hair loss, he decided to pursue medic in hair loss treatments.

There are generally 3 types of treatments to revive hair loss:
1. Laser treatment
2. Hair transplant
3. PRP (Injections)

There was a testimony by Ms Chong who hailed all the way from Malacca and she comes by Premier Clinic every 1-2 months(from Malacca!) for treatment of her hair.

She suffered from hair loss and balding patches 1-2 years ago and now see her after picture, she has definitely more hair and no balding patches. All thanks to Dr Foo!

When you come in for treatment, Dr Foo will do a scan analysis of your scalp first to determine your hair and scalp condition before proceeding to ask you questions on your lifestyle to determine what treatment is best for you.

This is an example of hair analysis.

There was also a live demo on the PRP treatment.
Hair Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) adds an intensive boost to the natural nutrient retention ability of the scalp to improve hair thickness, strength and density. PRP uses the biostimulation mechanism of our own cells to locally release growth factors, small molecules that acts as messengers to initiate the process of skin regeneration.

PRP uses blood from the patient and from a small sample of blood, the doctor will isolate the platelets with a device and the PRP is ready to be injected into the scalp. It is fast and the injections are relatively painless.

Next is a demo on hair laser treatment.
Basically this is the most painless option and if you're scared, you should start with this first if your hair loss condition is not so bad yet. It's exactly like the one we do on the face. Just some slight sensation but painless. The laser will stimulate hair growth and under doctor's advise, if need to come back, then you will need to continue with the treatment.

If the hair loss is more severe, then you would probably need hair transplant treatment.

Come by Premier Clinic for your aesthetic needs. There are many promotions happening during this festive period.

Closing in on year 2019

2019 has been THE year for me.
It's the year I got married and threw my wedding luncheon.
It's the year I shifted into our new home and for the first time ever stayed away from my family.
It's the year I properly became a wife and had to do wife things like cooking, cleaning etc
It's the year I had to improve my culinary skills.
It's the year I went for my honeymoon.
It's also the year that I'm going for a second honeymoon *laughs*

So let's recap this year.

I finally moved into my new home. Read my renovation story. Settling in was a mixed feeling. Initially, I thought I would hire cleaners to clean my house on a weekly basis but suddenly realised that I had to follow their schedule and supervise them. I might as well do it by myself with the help of my husband and my 2 Dysons hehe So we upkeep the house ourselves and I'm kinda OCD that I need my house to be in proper all the time. Quite tiring but also satisfied to be able to keep something clean by yourself.

And then I had a few bachelorette parties and finally got married! Super thankful that I had friends to keep me calm before the wedding and since I'm such an early planner, I wasn't last minute and getting panicky about anything. I must say everything went smoothly, thank God! The vast difference of being in a relationship and being married is definitely the living in part. We have our differences but luckily my husband is the more patient and more adaptable one. So far, we think that having our own independence and being able to just hang out together in our home has been quite fun =)

Then came my birthday. My first as a wife. Had many surprises and definitely over ate cakes so my cake quota was over the limit in the month of May haha I have just one more year next year before I turn the big 3-0 so gotta live life to the fullest while I'm still in my 20s hehe

In terms of travelling, in the first half of the year, didn't do any travelling overseas because I was busy preparing for the wedding. But I slept in a different hotel every other week for my bachelorette so I still felt a bit adventurous *laughs* Second half of the year, travelled within Malaysia a bit from Johor, to Ipoh to Penang. Then, we went for our honeymoon to Maldives. I think this year I stayed in hotel rooms the most. And now, we are going for the second one to Europe woo-hoo! So excited for this trip.

I think we achieved quite a bit this year. I really don't want my 2019 to end so fast as I'm enjoying it quite a bit haha...I hope year 2020 would be equally as fun and I hope next year will be as adventurous =)

CDLC x The Tokyo Restaurant

Creme De La Creme (CDLC) is pleased to announce yet another innovative collaboration, marrying its famed ice cream with The Tokyo Restaurant's equally famed burnt cheesecake to create the ultimate dessert infused with the best of two worlds.

The Tokyo Restaurant's famed burnt cheesecake needs no introduction and CDLC has of course shaken up the ice cream world by reinventing the look and taste of ice cream. Combining the best of these two worlds is definitely something to shout about and they couldn't have found a better partner to recapture the imaginations of ice cream and cheese cake lovers alike.

Got myself a refreshing yuzu drink before the start of a free flow dessert night which got me into a cheese coma hahaha

Artisanal ice creams
Burnt Caramel Cheesecake- Enjoy delicious burnt caramel ice cream with such smoothness and richness that is sure to tantalise your tastebuds. The rich caramel taste captured my interest and I have to say this was the favourite. Because this has cubes of cheesecakes in it, it was not overly cheesy with the caramel taste.

Tokyo la Creme- Creamy cream cheese ice cream featuring fresh Australian cream cheese that will throw your senses off-balance. This is creamy and also has cubes of cheesecakes in it.

Any of the ice creams topped with the perfect proportion burnt cheesecake is sure to have your tastebuds dancing in cheese heaven. If you're a cheese lover, this collaboration is not to be missed. Have the best of both worlds with the smoothness creamy cheesecake with a scoop of CDLC ice cream.

But I must warn, non cheese lovers, this can be a bit overwhelming for you.

Its AR Iceberg Suction Cup, with its grip bottom, and 100% leak proof Elegance Suction Bottle is heaven-sent for accident-prone individuals and are the company’s best sellers.

Artist Suction Bottle (RM75)
Got myself the Suction Bottle. Perfect for travel as the grip pad design reduces spillage occurances.

The best part?
It is also fall proof!! And I'm so loving the pink colour. To pick it up, just lift it vertically. It is chic looking yet a functional product. Love products like this.

For those who enjoy the finer things in life, Tea Lab, as its name suggests, indulges in all things tea. Tea lovers will find the process of brewing a cup of tea more fun with the brand’s creative tea infusers and tea making accessories. Its unique tea scoop and infuser are firm favourites.
Got myself the Tea Clip and Tea Helper.

Tea Clip (RM30)

It comes with a clip and 50 filter bags. Super convenient to pack tea leaves. Just grab as much tea leaves, pour into the bag, fold it over the clip and stir in hot water.

You can even tilt it horizontally in case you don't want your tea to be too concentrated.

Super convenient and I was finding everywhere for something like this for my tea leaves. Tea leaves are so hard to brew by itself because you will ended up drinking some of the leaves as well so this was the perfect solution!

Tea Helper (RM17)

You know how sometimes the tea bag falls into your cup or the paper holding it comes off and there's no weight for the tea bag? Well, this is your solution! A tea button helper. Just press it onto your cup/mug, and tie the tea bag string around it. Wa-la! It holds on until you finish your cup. Another way is that if you don't want your tea concentrated, just tie the bag higher than the water level and if you need more, add more water after that. Genius!

For the ultra-discerning hostess, Hoobbe’s household products are creatively and cleverly designed to make excellent conversation starters when hosting guests at home. Designed with a dash of quirk and fun, its Wooly Pins Pushpin, Floaty Duck Salt & Pepper Shaker, Right Cake Measuring Cups and Thanks Giving Salad Server are bound to arouse interest.

Captain Ketchup (RM35)

Now this was something I wanted in my household but never got around to purchasing it haha

You know how the normal glass bottle chilli sauce can be uncontrollable?

And you ended up with a blop of sauce too much?

Captain Ketchup to the rescue!
With this cute ketchup bottle, you can control the pressure of how much sauce is needed to be squeezed with just the right amount of sauce needed for your egg ham sandwich!

Konstar specialises in small household appliances. Its design innovation simplifies how time-consuming household chores are done. 4 of its products have since been awarded the Red Dot Design Award. The Super Apple Peeler received the Red Dot Award 2014 honorable mention while the Salad Master which clinched the Red Dot Award 2014 is equally genius.

This was something I've been eyeing for ever since I laid eyes on it!

Konstar Master Chopper (RM130)

It's like an all in one tool. You'll be surprised at how many things it can do in just one little equipment!

There's a blade, a beater, spinner basket, suction base and a lock bowl.

Here's some large onions. In order for me to chop these into tiny pieces, it requires tears and time and a bit of work.

With the Master Chopper, I chopped these into tiny pieces below 10 seconds with no tears to dry. I was so happy that I almost teared! I not only saved time, but the consistency was fantastic! Human cut cannot be that tiny even and this is literally a life saver because whenever you cook, you surely need onions and garlic. Imagine how much time I save every single day =')

Another function is a spinner to rinse vegetables, fruits etc.
Just add water into the base bowl, put the vege into the basket and lock it.

Then spin it. In less than 10 seconds, take it out and it's ready to be eaten. As easy as 1,2,3.

There's also an egg white separator. Just break an egg into it and the white will drip below. Then, use the beater to beat the egg white. Either that or when you are mixing a batter and you need to pour some water into it, just use this function so that you don't need to keep opening the cover.

Super love this product which is super useful for my daily kitchen use since now I'm a wife and a chef LOL
