Kao Essential Rich Premier hair treatment

Have you heard of Essential by Kao?? I read so many good reviews of this hair brand and I just had to lay my hands on the hair treatment =) Unfortunately, it is not sold in Malaysia XD I wonder why...

So with the help of my BFF who was at Singapore at that time, I asked her to buy one for me =)

And so I had my very own Essential Rich Premier hair treatment. I was very excited to try it!!

I can't say one bad thing about this treatment!! First of all, it smells nice, it does wonders for my hair and this treatment supposedly penetrate deep into each strand to restore the natural moisture of the hair while repairing and preventing further hair damages!!

My hair has gone through much colouring, perming, ironing, curling, styling...you name it! So I needed a treatment that would prevent my hair from further damaging and at the same time restore the moisture. This one tube does it!! =)

One gentle reminder: Just make sure to leave the treatment on for a few minutes longer so that it would penetrate better before washing it out!

My hair is more manageable and definitely smoother and shinier now...

I went for a wedding the other day...

Is my hair as shiny as the bride's?? Hehe

This brand is quite popular in Singapore and those who tried the Essential range swears by it! No kidding! If only I lived in Singapore, I would have purchased the entire range XD

But anyway, for now, I'm happy with my Rich premier treatment =)

Miss Universe 2011

Miss Universe this year was held in Sao Paolo, Brazil. Malaysia was represented by the beautiful Deborah Henry.

I watched it yesterday and I was crushed that Malaysia did not even make it into the Top 16 =( I thought Deborah had a lot of potential looking at how she involved herself in many charity causes, an all rounder beauty with great personality!

Unfortunately when the Top 16 were announced, Malaysia did not make the cut. Andrea Fonseka, the National Director of Miss Universe Malaysia Organisation(MUMO) was so certain she was going to be the Miss Universe and this was our year and she was upset when that did not happen! She tweeted all the way from Brazil saying she couldn't understand the result XD

But oh well, I still think Deborah Henry is a perfect example of how a beauty queen should be.

Miss Universe 2011 went to Miss Angola, Miss Leila Lopes..

I was shocked by the results actually! But anyhow, it is what it is!
Congrats I guess to Miss Angola.

TLC Promise Me Campaign Season 2

Have you heard of the TLC Promise Me Campaign?
After last year's successful campaign, the Truly Loving Company is back with Season 2 to fulfill wishes from various charity organization.

One of the wishes to be fulfilled is to help the Rumah Aman orphanage in Shah Alam to replace their 15-year- old electricity wiring and lightning breaker system.

Nails, Nails, Nails

Lately, I'm very obsessed with nail arts. I bought the Konad Stamping kit, nail polish and today I just did another set of nail art with my BFF =)

I think I need to enrol myself into a nail art course *laughs*

I wanted turquoise as the base but Nail Artz at Sunway Pyramid didn't have the right colour so it was mixed with blue and light shimmery turquoise. I loved it =) The design was soft blue, white and green.

Now, since I have nothing much to do, all I do is stare at them. I stare when I'm bored, when I'm typing, while driving, while watching TV, while sms-ing....yeah, you get it =p

Konad Stamping Nail Art

If you read my past posts, you would know I am an avid nail art fan =)
Hence, when I found out about another method to do nail art 'DIY' other than stickers or drawing yourself, I got very interested!

Some of you may or may not know stamping nail art. It seems that this method has been introduced quite long ago. I didn't know up until recently when a colleague of mine, who is also very interested in all things nails, told me about it.

So I looked it up and Konad brand originated it(i think) and only that website sells the starter kit. So I thought to myself, I have to get one =)

And...Ta-Dah!!

It comes with two special Konad polish , a stamper, scraper and a metal plate. For this set, it has metal plate M3 and one set costs RM48 without shipping costs.

Behind the box is the simple instructions on how to stamp the art on your nails

You will have to paint your nails first with any colour.

I chose to paint red because I'm going to stamp with white nail art.

Then get the tools ready with a paper towel and nail polish remover so that it won't be messy.

Paint the Konad special polish on the design you desire on the metal plate:

 red colour 

white colour

Then scrape it using the scraper:

Then quickly stamp on the design using the stamper:

The design will form on the stamper like this!

After that, roll it on your nail and the design will be 'stamped' on the nail:

It looks easy doesn't it? But let me honestly tell you, it's not as easy as it looks. Even those Youtube tutorials made it look so easy but actually it takes quite awhile to get the hang of it.

Some problems you may encounter and how to solve it:
- The design is smudged on the stamper. (To solve this, you must stamp it hard on the plate ONE time. Do not roll it or move while stamping or else it will smudge the polish.)

-The stamper does not fully take up the design. (This is the problem I encountered the MOST and one that most people complaint about. I read and watched videos and finally found a trick to that. Before stamping, use a nail filer to file the stamper so that it has a rougher surface and will get the design.)

-The polish dried on the stamper before stamping. (You must be quick when stamping. Do it fast or else either the polish will dry on the plate or on the stamper before you can stamp the art.)

Well, as the saying goes, practice makes perfect. You will have to try an error many times before you can successfully nicely stamp the art on your nails.

It is quite messy as well but all tools can be cleaned with a nail polish remover and it'll be as nice as new. But just be careful because when all is over, you would have your nails beautifully polished and stamped and you do not want it to be ruined when using the remover to clean the tools XD

Overall, it's like a new toy for me to play *laughs* It's just a hobby and I'm getting hooked to stamping =)
