Sensenique Natural Shampoo & Conditioner

For all you ladies out there, you will agree with me when I say our hair is our crowning glory. So much so that during MCO, many ladies out there were dying to go to the saloon to upkeep their mane.

Since now we have to adjust to new normal, we want to be able to care for our hair better so that trips to the saloon can be decreased in the name of social distancing. I have always used chemical shampoos and now that I received this set of Sensenique products which is chemical free, I am now switching to Betaine, Sulfate, Silicone Free Haircare!

Made with 98% ingredients of natural origin.
Infused with the goodness of Argan oil, Olive oil, Jojoba seed oil, Macademia seed oil, Ginger Root, Orange, Peppermint, Lime pure essential oils, ECOCERT organic Aloe Barbadensis Leaf juice and ECOCERT natural plant extracts that are soothing, moisturizing and kind to hair and skin.

The premium, safe, gentle yet effective non-toxic glucose, amino acid & fatty acid based surfactants make them perfect for everyday use. They are scented with pure essential oils and consistent usage leaves you with healthier skin, hair and scalp. Suitable for all hair types including color treated hair and all skin types, especially sensitive and problem skin.

Let's put them to test.
The shampoo is Gel like and a little goes a long way. It does not lather up like your ordinary shampoo. But less lather does not mean it is not cleaning your hair, or that you need to use more shampoo than usual. Sensenique Natural hair care requires more water in your hair before you add in the shampoo. You add more water to get a better wash - not more product like your regular shampoos. This means you are using less product to get good and effective cleansing.

Thoroughly wet hair before applying shampoo. If your hair isn’t completely soaked, it’s hard to apply the product and distribute it through your hair. Apply more water, instead of more product. The water will help activate the shampoo and spread it through entire hair.

If your hair is thick or coarse, shampoo twice. The second shampoo lathers up more easily and helps clean thick or coarse hair better. I used once although my hair is thick and I find it okay and it cleans my scalp well. The peppermint and lime helps in soothing scalp with a minty feeling.

Rinse hair thoroughly. Any residue will make your hair feel heavy.

Follow up with the conditioner.

Apply from mid lengths to ends (no need to condition your scalp, especially if you have fine or oily hair) and then rinse well.

If your hair is very thick, coarse or heavily treated ie instensely coloured hair, double conditioning will help manage hair better. But once will also do like mine although I have thick coloured hair.

After that, dry hair and see the effect.

It can take from as early as 2-3 weeks to 1-2 months for your scalp to adjust when switching to a truly natural hair care. In the beginning, hair feels slightly dry and stiff. This is the adjustment period where it helps to detox the hair from all remaining chemical coating. After this adjustment period, you will find that your hair is fuller and texture is more well-balanced. In the end, you will enjoy healthier hair and scalp.

I find that after the first wash, yes, it's a bit stiff and hair does not feel smooth right after washing. However, after blowing dry, hair feels less frizzy and bouncy. I normally feel my scalp turns itchy and oily after 2 days of washing but somehow after using Sensenique, it lasts 3 days and scalp is less oily.

Yay! I now have healthy hair and is a lot less to maintain. My scalp feels fresh after every wash and hair becomes smoother, silky and moisturised. I have also noticed much less hair fall after continuous usage.

It costs RM39 for a 300ml bottle of Peppermint Lime Shampoo and RM39 for a 300ml bottle of Peppermint Lime Conditioner.
