Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips

Like my new nail art? It's from Sally Hansen's Polish strips =)
It's actually stickers where you stick on to the nails but it's made of real nail polish(yeah, don't ask me how!)

The newest innovation by Sally Hansen comes in a diversity of colours and patterns..

I have been wanting to try these strips for quite some time and now thanks to my BFF, I got it as my Christmas present =))))

My pattern is No.340- Girl Flower

These are the tools that come in the package

There are:
-2 packets of strips
-1 mini file/buffer
-1 wooden cuticle stick
-instructions

1 packet of strips consist of 8 strips with various sizes...

Hence, you can use according to your finger sizes. You will also notice there are extras since there are 16 strips and we only have 10 fingers so I guess the remainders are spares just in case you messed up.

However, since my nails are short, I could actually use 1 strip for 2 nails! So it's not wasteful as I can use the same pattern twice!!

It's actually quite easy. You'll have to push back cuticles using the cuticle stick, file then buff nails and then wipe nails with polish remover to remove any residue for lasting effect. Finally, stick the strips on and file excess strip.

This is my first time doing it and luckily, I did not mess up. It's quite easy but you need to have lots of patience. I have not tried any other polish strips but the Salon Effects line looks quite promising...

One thing though, it's quite pricey. It claims to last for 10 days and I have yet to find out!

Overall, definitely worth a try!! =)

Update: I'm actually quite surprised it lasted up to 15 days and more! Further, wiping it off with a nail polish remover is soo easy! Now, it's a definite must try! =)

Spotted!

There is no doubt Kate Middleton is one of the most influential fashionista this year. Her dressing sense is impeccable. She's conservative yet gorgeous, proving you do not have to bare much skin to look beautiful! Here, during the festive season, she continues her streak of best dresses...

This Ralph Lauren turtleneck dress definitely put all rumours that she's pregnant to rest. I absolutely love this figure hugging dress with the boots. It's casual yet very chic!

At the Sun Military Awards, Kate Middleton shun in this velvet Alexander McQueen gown. She's so stunning with two handsome men by her side =)

It is likely she will continue to be an influential person for years to come...

Sherlock Holmes 2: A Game of Shadows

I did not really like the prequel to this movie. The first movie was quite a bore to me. Hence, I was skeptical about the second installment.

It turned out okay though. It was a mixture of dry humour, action and putting the puzzles together...Well, it is a detective show hehe Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law reprised their roles as Sherlock Holmes and Dr John Watson respectively and I think their partnership have chemistry. The train scene is what you should look out for!

Not much romance though so if you're looking for some lovey dovey, then this is not the movie *laughs*
However, if you're a fan of the first movie, you would probably like this one. Even if you're not a fan, you would probably still like this movie LOL

Just one thing, I thought the movie ended quite abruptly...probably there's a third..

CLEO hair makeover

I was chosen to be part of Cleo magazine's hair makeover =)) I needed a change to my hairstyle. I've had this long hair ever since high school and never actually had the guts to do any daring change to it. All I ever did was permed and dyed my hair.

So, on the 19th December, me and other girls who were also chosen, went to L'OREAL Professionel Academy in Bangsar. We were excited for our makeovers!!

We had our 'Before' shots taken then proceeded to have our hair done. My stylists told me they were going to cut my hair medium length for a fresh and young look and dye my hair soft purple for the base with red highlights.

And so the transformation began...

Chopped my hair off!

My long hair gone...

Blowing dry

Having my hair dyed

Others having their hair makeovers

DONE!!

Curled

BEFORE                                                                        AFTER

Photoshoot

Me with my hairstylists, Tim(left) and Keith from Albert Nico

I totally looked different after the makeover. Even the photographer who took my 'Before' shot couldn't recognise me after that *laughs*

I like the young and fresh look. I think I look younger with shorter hair because I find that with my long hair, it adds to my age. I look edgy and fun now with red highlights hehe

Can't wait for the February issue!!

Thanks Cleo <3

Mission Impossible 4: Ghost Protocol

Okay, I'm gona say, this is the BEST action movie of 2011-seriously! They definitely kept the best movie for the last month of 2011 *laughs*

It was entertaining from the start to finish! I was so glued to the movie for 2 hours and 15 minutes. It was action packed, funny and touching. Tom Cruise, does not look his age at 49 years old! He could still run, climb buildings and do his own stunts! Damn, he was so HOT doing all of that!

At Dubai, where they shot part of the movie, Tom Cruise hung from the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa Tower, doing his own stunt for the movie!! I was very impressed with that scene. It was a heart stopper and nerve wrecking!

He's the main actor as well as the producer and a stuntman...He's a jack of all trades! Definitely one of the respected actors out there...

You should definitely watch this movie! It's a MUST watch before 2011 ends =)

Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Lotion

I'm sure many of you have heard about Hada Labo brand, no? I mean it's sold at most leading pharmacies and it's quite of the most talked about brand among Asians! This brand comes from Japan.

So, I have been using this best seller Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Lotion. It's one of the best selling products among Japanese girls! Hyaluronic Acid is like the 'in' thing among products nowadays. So what is it? It's a substance which deeply moisturizes skin's innermost layer, hydrates and keep skin smooth for a long period of time and effectively locks in moisture on skin.

This product has SUPER Hyaluronic Acid so it's twice the amount of moisture as compared to normal Hyaluronic Acid!

You may be more familiar with toner. This actually acts like a toner because it is applied after cleansing and before moisturiser. There is a difference between toners and lotions, though. Toners are meant to remove residue impurities and minimising pores. Japanese lotion is more towards hydrating and moisturizing.

It's motto is 'One drop locks up an ocean' Since it's so popularly used and I've seen the advertisement with girls  having bouncy skin after using this lotion and having that 'toing toing' feeling *laughs* I was, hence excited to use this product to experience it myself!

Simply pour a few drops of the lotion onto your palm. I only needed three drops so you actually don't need much at all! It's watery just like this:

Then rub hands together and pat on face. You will feel a sticky feeling and I was quite uncomfortable at first but then, the stickiness dissapeared and you will feel your face moisturised and soft! It will be completely absorbed after about 10 seconds. Just have to keep patting and wait for it to dry. You can then follow up with a moisturiser.

PROS:
-Skin feels moisturised and supple all day long
-It's simple and don't need cotton pads
-It's free from fragrances, mineral oil, alcohol and colorant
-Does improve dehydrated skin
-Reasonable price. It costs around RM40 like that for a 170ml bottle and you don't need to use much.

CONS:
-Need time to dry so if you're in a hurry to work in the morning it might not be convenient for you
-I'm quite used to a toner after all these years, so I still feel that the residue impurities that are not removed during cleansing will not be removed by this lotion XD

Nevertheless, I feel it lived up to all that hype! It definitely served its purpose of moisturising and hydrating!
All girls should definitely try this! =)

New Year's Eve movie

Wheee~ This is another star studded movie!! Similar to Valentine's Day movie, this movie also portrayed many different couples celebrating their New Year's Eve all around New York City.

Okay, let me try to list down at least a few big names in this movie....Hilary Swank, Katherine Heigl, Bon Jovi, Sofia Vergara, Lea Michele, Ashton Kutcher, Zac Efron, Sarah Jessica Parker, Abigail Breslin, Josh Duhamel, Jessica Biel, Halle Berry and many many more!!!!

So many celebs, so little time haha but it was really a good movie! It was funny, touching and at the same time filled with a lot of inspirations for the coming New Year!

The song sang by Bon Jovi and Lea Michele, 'Have a little faith' was really good! I was singing along in the cinema as well!! *laughs*

If you want to lay back and see a feel good movie with a few romances and mishaps, then this is the movie for you!

Papermate Inkjoy!!

My Christmas present came early this year!! *laughs* Thanks to Papermate Malaysia, I received a bundle of joy today!

24 pens altogether!! *smiles widely*

Actually, I was only expecting a few pens but didn't know they were absolutely generous(must be the Christmas mood!) to give the entire set of the newest InkJoy pens! I think even after sharing with my family members, I have pens to last me probably 2 years!!

Happy me!

Okay, I have been using Papermate pens ever since I started writing (no kidding) and I'm still using Papermate after all these years! I think it's the best stationery brand around!

So, I'm really excited to review the new InkJoy pens. The name itself brings joy to people =)

The pens come in four sets....

InkJoy 100

This set is like any normal pens around. It's capped and comes in three colours; blue, red and black.

Capped pen

I like that the grip of the cap is quite strong so that it does come out easily and gets lost. Papermate really knows consumers' needs down to the design of the cap!!

Second set...

InkJoy 300 RT

This is my favourite set!! It consist of retractable pens with rubberised grips and awesome colours. Other than the normal blue, red and black this comes with pink, purple and turquoise!

It's a click pen

On top of that, it has this metal clip with Papermate's signature hearts =)

You can clip it at your jeans pocket or shirt pocket!

My two favourite pen colours- pink and purple =))

Next..

InkJoy 100 RT

This is almost the same as the first set, only thing, this is a retractable click pen.

Lastly,

InkJoy 700 RT

This has the best design. It's so modern and chic and good for office use! The 1.0 tip makes it easy for writing with the rubber grip and comes in two colours; black and blue. You know I would totally buy this pen just for its sleek design *laughs*

Also comes with a metal clip engraved with the hearts!

Overall, all the pens functioned smoothly without any breakage. It will definitely serve me well during exams where I do not have the time to bother about my pen's ink not coming out and fuss around. When you start writing with these InkJoy pens, I'm afraid you'll be reluctant to put it down...It's just effortless and makes writing so much FUN!

It's so smooth that you can even draw with it. It does not smear as it dries up fast and it does not hurt your fingers because it has a good grip and not slippery! Now, with the InkJoy pens, not only you can write with comfort but also with the chic pens, it's quite COOL to be writing with it =)

<3

I can actually find no fault with these awesome pens! You should totally try it and will not regret buying especially at affordable prices. The most expensive which is the 700 RT is only RM3.90 while the rest is around the range of RM1-1.50!!

Now, I can't wait to share the joy with my family members!

Truly!

Thank you Papermate!!
XOXO

It's that time of the year again...

where shopping complexes are buzzing with Christmas carols, sales everywhere, people buying presents, shops offering wrapping services, Christmas trees being put up, people busy preparing for that special day: Christmas Day!!

It's my favourite time of the year, in case, you didn't notice *laughs* I just love the atmosphere in the month of December! It's coming to the end of the year, school holidays are in, people are happy, new resolutions are being made and this is the most happening time of the year what with parties after parties being thrown!

I've had a good month thus far =) This week, I had a great week of shopping, buying presents, wrapping them up, filling under the Christmas tree and just having fun with the family =)) Next up, is self pampering session hehe

Are you enjoying this time of the year as much as I am?? If not, do cheer up!
