Canon EOS M10

Have you realised my pictures in the blog these days are much clearer with better reso? If your answer is no, then I'll be very sad LOL coz I just spent quite a chunk of money to invest in a better camera. And yes following the title, it's the Canon EOS M10.

I did a thorough research on the type of camera I wanted. I was contemplating between a few and I was actually leaning to buy another one before the shop assistant changed my mind haha. Because I wanted a camera with wifi(which is the most important) and of course good for product shots with a price under RM2k, the highly recommended camera in 2 different shops were the Canon EOS M10.

I have been using my Iphone SE and Huawei P9 Lite to take pictures for quite some time and have neglected my compact camera because it was time consuming to take pictures in my camera, transfer to my laptop and edit and paste in my blog. As I am a busy working lady, I do not have the luxury of time to do all these AND blog at the same time. So, taking pictures using phone was the better option. I can edit straightaway and transfer to my blog. Hence, having a wifi option in the camera was very important to me.

Also, I have been introduced to this M10 before at The Butterfly Project event and I finally decided on this M10 although it's bulky due to the DSLR-quality shots and the flip screen. I am not a technical person who goes into the technicalities of the camera. As long as the pictures turn out good and it's easy to use plus there's wifi to transfer pictures directly to my phone, I will be very contented already. After testing the M10 and its pictures quality, I was sold haha

Also, Canon was having some promo where I received a free camera bag (but it's super bulky)

I also received a free memory card, neck strap, a free camera jacket and a RM100 rebate from Canon once I submit the receipt online. Who doesn't like free gifts right? >.<

The lens is interchangeable but I doubt I will be changing lens because as mentioned, I am not well versed in the technicalities. So if not in use, I can keep the lens and camera separate to save space.

Other pros include:
-Touch screen
-Long battery life
-User friendly
-Variety of shooting modes
-Beautiful pictures (of course!)

It does not take too long to familiarise with the M10 operation. I read reviews where it's good for beginners for their first interchangeable lens camera. I think I managed to get use to it after a few testing and it's super user friendly.

Only thing is that it is bulky due the lens. So, I have to carry it on my neck all the time. Other than that, it's all good and I am pretty happy with my new toy hehe

So, enjoy more beautiful pics on the blog hehe

Being posh in Posh! Nail Spa

You know the life of the posh? The 'tai tais' (rich housewife) as you call it?
Well, I managed to experience that in a day in the newly refurbished Posh! Nail Spa =) Yes, it fits the name.

It's a Butterfly Soiree event by The Butterfly Project
It was an intimate, elegant, evening soiree with decadent desserts served by the finest hotels around the world, paired with a sparkling dessert wine and nail pampering session.

By invitation only of course because only posh people live the exclusive life ^__^ If you know me, you would know very well that this is the life I have always dreamt of *laughs* The likes of a rich housewife, eating at luxurious restaurants, enjoying mani/pedi on a frequent basis, getting hair done in a hair salon on a weekly basis, yes the likes of a posh life...

Where else can you enjoy being posh?

In Posh! Nail Spa of course. I mean the wordings are big enough not to miss it hehe

The previous time I visited Posh was at a blogger's launch and now that I visited again after the refurbishment, I was so happy to see it grow into a black and white theme for a classic look instead of a girlish pink theme previously. I mean, it's not that I didn't like it previously(pink is my favourite colour!) but I was so proud to see it grow and it grew with the founder who I will introduce later who has matured in this business and in her style.

Look at that gorgeous fluffy black chairs with golden comfy pillows!

Their new tagline is 'Looks Do Matter'

And yes I so very agree. Looks really do matter. First impression is everything.
Like how I first stepped into this place and I knew I would be comfortable and felt cozy with the environment. It was very clean & minimal yet modern.

A wide variety of nail polish to suit all types of preferences.

Then, Sydney from the Butterfly Project welcomed all of us.

And here's the founder, Sereen Eng who is a superwoman.

She is a wife, a mom and a successful businesswoman. I remembered asking her a favour for a friend's bridal mani/pedi and she arranged it immediately for me. Super efficient =) You can see her in the TTDI shop from time to time so do say hello as she's very friendly and with a boss' presence, you'll know that she's very hands on #girlboss She is also operating 3 other Posh outlets!

She showed us around the newly refurbished shop.
This is a makeup place where they provide makeup services for weddings/events.
It can also be party place for bridal showers/gatherings. They can arrange it for you with caterings and even goodie bags! Super versatile and I am definitely shortlisting this place for a friend's bridal shower.

Full make up set

This is their hall of fame where Posh received prizes or was featured.
Did you know that Posh was recently recognised by the Malaysia Book of Records for presenting a one-of-a-kind and the very first Nail Art Fashion Show in Malaysia? Yeap, they're famous like that.

This is Posh creative director, Rachel who is very talented in nail art and creations.

You may check out Rachel's creations at her work space in Posh which she regularly updates with new creations.

And of course what is a party without desserts and wine?

The dessert spread at the party were by La Rose Noire
They supply delectable and delicious desserts to five star hotels.

Macaroons anyone?

Their macaroons are double flavoured which was very unique and yummy.

Petit Clair.
Loved the raspberry flavour. It was not very sweet which was a plus point for me.

Petit Four

Chouschous

Yes, the names are all so #atas and the presentation was so beautiful plus the delish desserts coupled with...

Wine of course!
CA BIANCA MOSCATO D'ASTI by WineTalk Malaysia
Moscato (Muscat in French) is a very versatile grape, being able to offer wines going from light fresh whites, to rich luscious sweet wines while passing with soft, slightly fizzy juicy wines like this one. This wine offers a fine mousse that has a delicate and intense bouquet, with touches of acacia, sage and hints of citrus fruits (orange in particular).

Its sweet, clean flavour is enlivened by an attractive citric note and has a pleasant aftertaste of fruit and honey hill. It is a very addictive sweetish white, to enjoy fresh with friends for a nice late afternoon drink!

I have always been a fan of Moscato and will definitely look out for this one for brunch with my girl friends because it really suits my palettes and all the other girls loved it too.

I swear I almost fell asleep in one of those comfy chairs doing my mani the other day.

Next on the agenda is the nail pampering session.

Getting my express manicure done.

Love <3

Received so many compliments for this.
Blue glittery nails to wash away monday blues hehe

And little did I know that the both colours I picked out were popular colours among the girls and at the end of our pampering session, we found out, 3 of us had the same colours LOL

Sydney, Tammy(founder of The Butterfly Project) and Carmen enjoying our wine and dessert like how normal tai tais do >.<

With the founder and #girlboss of Posh, Sereen

Thank you Posh for pampering my nails and letting me have beautiful nails to look at hehe

I had a second appointment to do gel manicure thereafter. I was personally attended by Rachel, the creative director and I had a specific design in mind. She was very meticulous with my nails and I don't know how she did it but she was just so gentle! In fact, I had a chipped nail (which I was quite upset about if it had to be cut coz it would look shorter) but Rachel repaired it so well and fixed it that it looked like nothing happened after that *two thumbs up*

The end result was so satisfying! It was also a replicate of the design I wanted.
It's a gradient colour with glitter and art. Simple yet elegant just how I love it. Very happy with the overall services. Plus they email you for a reminder as well as give a courtesy call one day before appointment date. They can even be contacted via whatsapp. It was all very convenient and easy going which is how a spa place should be to the customers.

Posh as they describe themselves is more than just a beauty appointment. They provide professional manicure and pedicure treatments, nail art and enhancements, makeup and hairdo, as well as waxing and eyelash extension services. They also specialise in giving the ultimate celebration with pampering parties for any occasion.

Do visit them for a pampering session of your choice ^^ You'll definitely won't regret.

Acacia Retreat, Bentong

Hello guys, Selamat Hari Raya to those who are celebrating =)

Those who are not, what will you be doing this long weekend?
I just spent the weekend at this place called Acacia Retreat in Bentong and it was so much fun!

Before that, we had to join in the 'Balik Kampung' exodus on the highway and finally managed to reach Bentong town for some food. I will not be recommending any restaurant there because most were closed and the ones we ate were so-so.

So called famous tau foo fah but ermm...normal lah to me haha

This is a unique drink in Bentong though. It's Coffee + Milo + Tea.
It's called Keng Chao Ping.

Wan Tan Mee.

Unfortunately I had better ice creams.

Then it was time to continue the journey to Acacia Retreat.

Let me show you how beautiful the place is. This is not a sponsored post btw haha I went with my friends for a staycation and I was amazed with the place and just wanted to share with you guys.

The landscape and scenery were really beautiful.

Greeneries everywhere

We stayed at a 'Suite' which is like a house with two rooms fit for 8 people.

Living hall was huge.

Room 1 was spacious and nice.
It's new and was very clean.

Bathroom was really big and clean.

Room 2.
We were all very satisfied with the conditions of the rooms.

And they even mentioned to us that there won't be much mosquitoes at this place as well because they planted this plant (above) which I don't know the name which the mosquitoes are afraid of. And you can see this plants everywhere and yes at night when we played games outside, we were not bitten by any mosquitoes. Such a plus point for this place!

You can do fishing here and it's a popular activity to come here to fish.
We were quite lucky to have caught many fishes!!

Or you can chill at the pool.

Which was more of my kind of activity..

To just chill hehe

Then you can order BBQ there and they will prepare for you.
They actually prepared quite decent food and we were super full by night end.

The result of our fishing. Super fresh! Caught at 5pm and cooked by 7pm.

You can ask the kitchen to have them cooked for dinner. Super awesome right?

What's BBQ without marshmallow?

We had so much and it was just so chill. The place was serene and calm and we just hung out and chatted among ourselves.

Night time there is not much activity to do.
You can either just walk around, chill and relax in the room.

Or like us, it's drinking and snacking and game time hehe

Luckily since there were not many occupants, we were able to make so much noise without actually disturbing others HAHA Boy, we were Loud and then we even saw people started coming to fish again around midnight LOL These people really have the passion and patience for fishing.

And then we also followed suit and these were our extras that we brought home LOL

It was time to say goodbye and we really thought it was rather short for just a one night stay. Going back, we decided to go Genting but once we reached Gohtong Jaya, we decided against it because the jam was cray cray.

So, we ate instead at one of the seafood restaurant in Gohtong Jaya.

Stuffed crab

Yummss

Sang Ha Mee.

Salted Mantis Prawn.

Sang Ha with tang hun.

Food was so satisfying.

And then when we saw this, we quickly U-Turn and went back straight to KL.

Rather short trip but was such a memorable one.
If you have a weekend to spare and want somewhere to relax, I truly recommend Acacia Retreat.
