Hada Labo Releases Music Video ‘Cahaya’

Hada Labo’s 10th Anniversary Celebration is culminated with the official release of its music video ‘Cahaya’ featuring local renowned singer Daiyan Trisha. The public can now access the music video that has gone live on Hada Labo Malaysia Facebook Page and Youtube Channel

An original production of Hada Labo, the 2-minute long, jovial music video captures a memorable decade of the beautiful moments in life with Hada Labo being a life-long skincare companion. It also reminds the public about the importance of self-love as well as extending care and support for the community and environment.

“Hada Labo’s theme song entitled ‘Cahaya’ is dedicated to all who have supported the brand for the past one decade. It spreads the message of hope and care in line with Hada Labo’s ‘We Care’ campaign,” said Lim Mei Yuen, General Manager for Rohto-Mentholatum Malaysia.

The Hada Labo X Watsons ‘We Care’ campaign covered three pillars, namely ‘Care for You’, ‘Care for Society’ and ‘Care for Nature’. The ‘Care for You’ campaign focused on providing skincare education to the public in caring for their skin, while the ‘Care for Society’ campaign saw a collaboration with Women of Will (WOW) in reaching out to 200 underprivileged B40 women. The ‘Care for Nature’ campaign, on the other hand, saw the brand’s involvement alongside Malaysia Nature Society (MNS) in helping to create a sustainable environment.

The total amount of RM100,000 raised were donated to both WOW and MNS during a mock-cheque presentation that was held at the end of the campaigns.

Dyson Corrale review

Argghh imagine my excitement when I saw what was in my parcel <3
Every girl's coveted dream- the Dyson Corrale!!

The sleek black and fuchsia design, the velvety pouch, the magnetic cord, the cordless straightener, gosh to be able to have it in my possession was a dream come true!

Luckily, I did not buy the airwrap because then it would be too much. I was trying to get my hands on the airwrap previously but was fidgeting because I don't really curl my hair often plus it needs to be done on semi wet hair and I love blow drying my hair and only when I go out, I like to do a quick styling. So the Corrale was a perfect match for me =)

It can either be used cordless or corded.

Best to fully charge first and then style on dry hair. It takes around 40 minutes to fully charge.

The best part about the Dyson Corrale to me is definitely the cordless feature. One thing is because my dresser table is already fully packed and to have a corded straightener just messes everything up like my current one. So, this is a breath of fresh air. I can charge the Corrale at a different table and just bring it to my dresser with no cord interfering. Easy peasy.

Since my hair is my crowning glory, I love to keep it well kempt especially during travels. Sometimes, airbnb do not provide hairdryer(the horror!) and it's the worst to have dried unblown unruly hair. This Corrale would definitely be a lifesaver especially during travelling. However,  it is on the heavy side and it can only be brought on hand carry as it has lithium batteries. But, anything for beauty, right?

As for the weight, it can tire hands if you have very long hair and need longer time for styling. I have shorter hair, and I found it super fast to style my hair be it curl or straight. Yes, I could even curl my hair easily with a straightener(my first time!). Plus, after full charge, I can use for styling at least 2-3 times before charging it. Again, this is for short hair just at shoulder length.

It's very user friendly with only 3 heat settings(165, 185 and 210 degrees) and it charges very fast. Upon pressing the 'ON' button, it takes around 30 seconds to heat up to be ready for use. The tip of the straightener is not very hot to touch during styling as well even when using the highest heat function. So I can be assured to not burn my hand during styling.

The results?
Curl

Straightened

Super satisfied! I can do either the curling effect or straighten my hair. It's super easy to use and only took barely 5 minutes on each sides. Because the flexing plates gathers the hair easily at one go so it doesn't need to run through many times to get the effect.  I absolutely love the shiny and smooth effect. Although it uses heat, but it doesn't dry up and damage my hair.

Dyson is the best in terms of technology.  Hence, why I understand Dyson products are definitely on the higher side of price. You cannot have high tech AND a cheap price. So, in the end, I would conclude that if you really use the Corrale on a day to day basis, this is a good investment. However, if it's just for special occasion and to be kept in the dust bag until something special pops up to use the Corrale, I would suggest not. Me? I'm definitely a daily user of this Corrale!  I was sold at first touch =)

Dou Dou Bake vs Flakes: Croissant edition

I was searching for cafes to visit during the weekend and instagram popped out with Dou Dou Bake and Flakes serving croissants. So, I was finding for reviews on which cafe has the best croissant but came to no conclusion *laughs* Actually, I'm not really a fan of croissant. Because it's quite messy to eat one as it falls everywhere LOL. But since, I've heard many rave reviews from both cafes, I thought why not give it a try.

As I see on social media people are crazy about Dou Dou Bake and Flakes croissant- some even lined up to wait for almost 2 hours just for croissants so I thought since they are only 8 minutes apart, why not try both? They do pick up and delivery so really, don't have to queue for so long!

Ended up, I saw the breakfast menu in Flakes seem more enticing so I reserved a place in Flakes but pre-ordered croissants from Dou Dou Bake. Classic case of killing 2 birds with one stone hehe

And so we kinda went crazy and spent over RM200 for croissants to try and for our families 🙊 #CMCO does crazy things to you

Started off with a cold pressed juice to strengthen my immunity during this Covid.

Sinful Breakfast.
The whole combo was fulfilling and the scrambled eggs was of a perfect runny, soft silky and smooth texture! Plus, the croissant was buttered with peanut butter *Mmmm*

Crabmeat Scrambled Eggs.
They did not use the frozen crabmeats which I love. The sauce and the ebikko on top and everything was so yummy. I could have this again and again.

The breakfast croissant was very flakey, crunchy on top yet soft, buttery and airy on the inside. We were prepared to eat all the croissants today haha and so we ordered more- this time dessert croissants.

Pistachio Croissant.
Love the pistachio texture as it had a crunch. Inside had some pistachio filling but it wasn't very sweet which I love.

Flakey as usual and messy to eat as like all croissants LOL

We took away the Matcha Croissant.

It had an overwhelming matcha filling in it which made it a bit jelak and it overpowered the pastry. Would love it better with lesser filling.

Next on, Dou Dou Bake croissants. We took away the plain sourdough croissant and the Pain Au Jambon(ham and cheese).

The croissant was also flaky, airy and buttery. It's best if you can heat it up yourself.

Since it was a plain croissant, I added my own butter. Mm so yummy hehe However, I didn't really taste the difference in the sourdough and the normal dough.

The ham and cheese one.

The verdict?

Firstly, I'm not a croissant taster or a professional food reviewer haha. Croissant is just croissant to me *laughs* I mean, not to the extend of spending 2 hours of wait to get myself some croissants. This comparison is solely based on my own taste buds preferability. I find the variety of savoury and sweet croissants in Flakes seem more appealing. The breakfast options in Flakes were ah-ma-zing with their dessert croissant options. Dou Dou Bake on the other hand, had only savoury options for croissants and I heard that their croissants are almost always sold out before noon so I pre-ordered to make sure I get my hands on them(that's a plus point because I couldn't pre-order for Flakes!).

So who won? In terms of texture, both are flaky, buttery, airy inside and good but Flakes was more flakey(now I know why it's called Flakes). But I have to say in terms of variety, I'll go with Flakes because I don't find joy in eating plain croissants. I absolutely enjoyed the croissants with scrambled eggs and sides and the pistachio one rather than a plain and even the ham and cheese was a tad too unflavourful. However, the husband enjoyed the plain croissant from Dou Dou Bake. So really it's up to your taste buds. 2 people can eat the same thing but come to 2 different conclusions. At the end of the day, why not try both and you be the judge!
