Ido's Clinic

I am of no stranger to Ido's Clinic. Been there many times and was there again for another blogger's event. Dr Chia was there again to talk to us and this time it was more of a chit chat session to talk about any skin problems that has been troubling us. He answered our questions and told us many medical terms which we lay people are not aware of. It was a very informative session.

Thereafter, there was demo session of the different types of treatment provided by Ido's Clinic. All are non invasive treatment which means no surgery is needed.

One of it is the Carbon Peel Laser Treatment.

The carbon deep cleanses the pores making skin feel rejuvenated and thoroughly cleansed. Laser beam is focused on the face covered by a thin layer of carbon to purge pores, exfoliate skin and reduce bacteria load. It has instant whitening effects.

Next is the Fractionol Laser designed for lifting of skin. Erbium Glass CO2 Laser is used to stimulate collagen for skin tightening, scar treatment, stretched mark reduction and improvement of pigmentation.

HIFU [High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound] is the newest technology in Ido's which is also designed for skin lifting to make customers look younger. This is more painful because the laser goes deep down into skin.

HIFU is a technology that uses focal ultrasound heat to penetrate into the target depth of 4.5mm at the layer of superficial muscular aponeurotic system (SMAS) of the face. It stimulates collagen synthesis and remodeling thus increases the skin elasticity. Besides that, the heat generated by HIFU causes contraction of SMAS with the facial muscle and skin, giving a facial lifting and tightening effect.

   Results include:

    1. Improves and tightens sagging skin.
    2. Reduces double chin and aging neck lines.
    3. Reduces nasolabial fold.
    4. Skin rejuvenation, improves skin complexion and elasticity.

Areas for HIFU treatment include: forehead, tear trough (below eyes), zygomatic area, apple cheek, cheek bone, chin and neck.

We also get to see a Dysport injection done on the face. Dysport has the similar effects like Botox, only cheaper and longer lasting but the effect is not immediate.

It's a super fast procedure. Only in a matter of minutes and makes you look younger without frown lines.

Then, the most fun part was making our very own skincare!

We get to choose what combination of products we prefer and what colour our skincare looks like =)
All products have been tested previously and it can all be safely combined.

This is the mini chart for reference.

I was making my very own toner.

So I chose a combination of serums. I was looking very serious in mixing the serums hahaha

Was smelling the essential oil for my toner to smell nice =)

Ta-dah! My very own pink toner hehe

Another blogger made a purple moisturiser hehe
It looks odd but hey not everyday you get to choose your own moisturiser's colour LOL

Dr Chia and his wife, both the models in the posters when they were younger hehe

With the other bloggers!

Thank you Ido's for a fun filled event!

Guardian Beauty in Action 2015

The highly anticipated Great Guardian Makeover is back! Themed Beauty in Action this year, the two-day event empowering women with tips and tools to look good and keep healthy while on-the-go, kicked off with a buzz in Nu Sentral last weekend.

Now, in its 9th year, Guardian has taken the role of encouraging not just women, but the community in general, and its customers in particular, to lead a healthy and active lifestyle.

They have sold more than 1000 tickets this time. The queue for the makeover was overwhelming! It is open to anyone who purchases a ticket of RM10 when you purchase any products of a participating brand. The makeover consists of make-up done by MakeUp Puzzle, hair styling by A Cut Above and a professional photography session to capture the best pose. On top of that, you get to bring home a goodie bag.

Opening speech by Ricky Soon, Operations Director of Guardian Health & Beauty Sdn Bhd

Dance performance.

Photo session.

Now, it's time for the makeover.

We get to choose one out of 6 makeup looks and I chose Number 1- Kylie Jenner with natural nude makeup. I wanted something very natural because I was headed for the High Heel Dash and another event after that. So, instead of having runny thick makeup on my face while I'm running, I had to go with something natural.

The makeup used for the makeover,

There! Natural/Nude face.
Seems like no makeup but actually to achieve a flawless natural look is not easy.
I actually love it! And the makeup stayed till I was done for three events in a day =)

Next, getting my hair done.

I chose the bottom right because it seems unique.

Love the braid and the curls.

Before look.

After makeover <3

Then, proceeded to the photography place where everyone gets to take a picture home.

Meanwhile, there were so many tempting promotions around for makeup and skincare in the concourse area. Some promotions were so hard to resist.

Last but not least, I got to bring this home as a keepsake <3

Thank you Guardian for making me beautiful!
See you next year!

Spy Movie 2015

Don't be fooled by the posters of this newest Spy movie.
The main character is neither Jason Statham nor Jude Law.

Nope, it's not even Rose Byrne.

Look again. Yeap, it's Melissa McCarthy. And you thought looking at the pictures, the guys were the main characters. They probably made it into the posters because of their star quality to give the movie promotion an extra boost and because they are better eye candies than Melissa herself.

So don't watch the movie because you're a fan of Jason Statham or Jude Law. Rather watch it if you're a big fan of Melissa McCarthy who has carved a name for herself in numerous comedies. Melissa is an analyst who volunteered to be in the field when her partner falls off the grid and another top agent is compromised. So she went undercover to infiltrate a world of terrorists to prevent a global crisis.

Her journey is a funny one yet filled with action. It was actually quite a good movie. It was not very serious but stop short at being slapstick. It just lacked romance. Her co star in Bridesmaid, Rose Byrne made a good counterpart in the movie. I guess their chemistry worked in Bridesmaid so they worked again in 'Spy'.

Overall enjoyable but there were quite many explicit words which I'm surprised were not censored in Malaysian theaters. There were some really hilarious moments which left the audience in stitches =')

My rating: 3 and a half stars

High Heel Dash 2015, Publika

I know you have heard of races, marathon, walkathon and jogathon. But have you heard of racing in High Heels? Haha sounds very intriguing huh?
The High Heel Dash is the first-ever high heel race in Malaysia, in support of women empowerment for all ladies who want to shatter the glass ceiling. This race is also for a good cause. You pay RM150 to participate in the race and the profit benefits The Women’s Aid Organisation in their effort to provide a safe shelter for female victims of abuse.

The High Heel Dash was held in Publika last Saturday and they even opened registration to men! So yes, you get to see men running in heels!

Choo Mei Sze, a cancer survivor was the brain behind this event and the emcee of the day.

That's my number. The event was sponsored by Malaysian Airlines hence the 'MH'.

My first run in heels!! Wee~

The dash was 50 metres long but there was a curve in the track so it's not a straight line. That's the hard part where most people slipped. All high heels must be 3 inches and above. No less! I had no prior training so I just ran as best I could haha Luckily didn't fall down!

Some of the participants dashing in heels...

There were many qualifying rounds throughout the day and those with the best time get to go to the finals. The entire day was filled with talks from inspirational people, there were booths selling food, beverages, etc and attractive lucky draws. And for a RM150 entrance fee, you get to bring home a goodie bag worth more than RM500!

It was definitely a one of a kind event. I had so much fun making new friends and seeing the guys being so sporting running in heels- all for a good cause =)

I think this should be a yearly event. Just don't slip, fall and twist your ankles =p
