Public holiday!!

Wow, I cannot believe it...Malaysia winning the AFF Suzuki Cup has made such an impact on our Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib till he declared tomorrow, 31st Dec a public holiday LOL

Unbelievable *laughs* Then Malaysia should win more trophies, no? Bring back more trophies so that we can have more holidays. But anyway, whether tomorrow is a public holiday or not makes no difference to me since I am on hols now.

But it's good to those who are working coz since New Year is on a Saturday and there is no extra holiday, they can have the extra holiday tomorrow and celebrate New Year's eve =))

The finals of the Suzuki Cup has brought many Malaysians together and liven up the spirit of the footballing team. It's definitely a day to be proud of and I guess it's appropriate for the public holiday declared!

Malaysian fans reacting when we scored a goal! I can also imagine the same reaction when public holiday was declared =p

AFF Suzuki Cup 2010

WOOTS!!! Malaysia was awesome in the finals of both legs of the AFF Suzuki Cup!!!

Malaysia won the first leg 3-0 but lost the second leg 1-2. Nevertheless Malaysia still won on aggregate 4-2...YAY!!!!

I'm so happy at the same time very excited while watching the match LOL
Congratulations to our Malaysian football team and the coach Rajagopal. I'm sure they would have a very welcoming  parade when they touchdown in KLIA =)

Great job, guys! So proud of them!

The coming end...

I cannot help but feel sad that the year's ending....Not coz of anything but because it means my holidays are ending soon =((

I need more time to enjoy LOL
So New Year is just around the corner. It has been quite a norm for people to have New Year's resolutions. But before that, we must check whether our 2010's resolutions were fulfilled haha
I cannot say that I have fulfilled all of it but safely, most of it (that's good enough I guess!)

For the next year, I haven't thought about what I want to achieve. But one thing is lingering around my thoughts: To be less of a shopaholic and more of a study-a-holic *laughs* And it comes with this thought: I do not think I can achieve it =p

So I'll just leave that aside for awhile LOL

On another note, the year 2011:
- is going to be a start of a new decade.
- has CNY so much earlier(YAY!)
- is the year where there will be price hikes(yikes!)
- is not a leap year(too bad for Feb 29 babies)

and hopefully a better year <3

i-city

i-city Shah Alam is a sight for sore eyes =)) It has so many beautiful lighted up trees. And also since it's Christmas time it had beautiful Santa and reindeers all lighted up and a huge white lighted up Christmas tree. Everything is so colourful there =)

Though it has nothing much to offer other than a beautiful scenery for pictures, it does have a small time carnival and many food outlets. Other than that, you either walk around and take pictures or picnic there LOL

Yes, it's my first time in i-city and will probably be my last but it's a must-see at least once!

Boxing Day

Christmas was an awesome load of FUN!!! I hope all of you had a pleasant and meaningful Christmas as well =)

Well, today, 26th December is boxing day!! This is the day people box each other LOL
Hehe kidding...Today is where people open up their presents they got during Christmas day!!

I'm not sure people still practice this coz you know how 'curiosity kills the cat'... Whenever you get a gift, you'll want to know immediately what is inside. I, for one, am such person. But I can at least keep the surprise up until Christmas day only. I cannot wait even for one more day *laughs* All the presents under the Christmas tree will be opened on Christmas morning =p

So yeah, boxing day is just another normal day for my family haha
But to those of you who practice it, happy opening those lovely presents =)
Be grateful for whatever you got!!

December 24, 2010

Beauty day out!! *hearts*

Nails. Check. Hair. Check. Dress. Check. Awesome-ness <3 Now, just waiting for Christmas and New year to arrive *jumps for joy*

So, today was my beauty day out =) Went to Sunway Pyramid to do my nails. This is actually my first time. I went to Nail Artz at Asian Avenue. I did my research and I can safely say this shop has the cheapest price and really good service =)

I did the nail painted art design. It's Rm2.90 per nail. But it ranges from rm2.90 to rm9.90 according to designs...

                                                                        So lovely <3

My manicurist was very nice. She did her work so very meticulously. I also like that the shop uses OPI nail polish. OPI is a very good and long lasting brand. Overall, the service was great and I was a happy customer =p

Next, is to dye my hair. I've always wanted my hair to be copper red. I would buy boxes of DIY dyes which clearly states 'RED' but to no avail on my hair. It wouldn't come out as I wanted. So, I decided to go to the saloon instead.

My next destination was: A-Saloon

I would give their service 10/10
My hairdresser was very friendly and did my hair just as I wanted =))
He consulted me on my hair colour. I told him I wanted copper red and he said he'll mix the base as light brown with red. I told him not too bright red and then left it to him to mix the colour. It turned out perfectly!!

I'm very afraid especially with hairdressers when I tell them one thing and they do another thing. Had many bad experiences! Especially so when cutting my hair coz it's irreversible! You'll have to let it grow out which will take at least 2 months!

But anyway, my hairdresser was very friendly throughout and making me at ease. Besides that, at A-Saloon, they serve their customers Japanese green tea and have computers for you to go online while they do your hair. How awesome is that???!! Further, all products are by Shiseido not some unknown brand.

The whole process took an hour and 40 minutes. After dyeing, he trimmed my hair and blowed dry. The end result was very satisfying =))

What I like best about both 'Nail Artz' and 'A-Saloon' was that both people who attended to me spoke English although they are Chinese speaking. My mandarin sucks so they had to communicate English with me. Since I'm the customer, they put me at ease and spoke my language. Unlike some other saloons, communication is a barrier.

I'm a very satisfied customer today =)) If you want to get your nails or hair done, I recommend those two shops at Pyramid =p You'll definitely enjoy their services as well!!

CROCS

                                                               CROCS KAELA(LILAC/PLUM)

Love my new shoes =))))
Firstly, it's very comfortable(the most important!) and very lightweight.
I've heard Crocs are lasting so that's one more thing I like about it coz all my other ballet flats can only last me around 10 months tops!
But, it's quite pricey XD Hope so it's worth it LOL

December 17, 2010

HOLIDAY!!

YAY!!! Finally, my holidays are here!! Thank goodness....I've been dying for my holidays to come...I need some relaxation and peace away from all study-related stuffs!!!!! Boy, second year is really putting a toll on me XD

Anyway, it's time to shop, shop, shop till I drop =p
Have you seen lately in the newspaper where advertisements for sale are everywhere!!!!!!!! What perfect timing =)) I love a good discount on goods *wink*

Well, I know it's quite late but Happy Holidays people!!! I hope you'll enjoy your hols as much as I will *laughs*

Bed & Breakfast Website In Malaysia Finally!!

You know how is it that whenever you want to travel, you are on a budget but still want to stay at a comfortable place??

I remembered last year when my friends and I went on a trip to Malacca without much planning and just decided to crash at any budget hotel there. It was so hard to find one that was cheap, comfortable and could accommodate all of us. We wasted so many hours trying to find a suitable place for the night =(

But fret not now! Malaysia B & B is a website that you should go to if you need a room for one night, a few months or even rent out your spare room to earn some extra cash!! How convenient! Now finding a room is not a hassle anymore with just one click!! On top of that, the prices are very reasonable =)

Have you seen 'The Holiday'?

Well, this website is very similar to the website Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet used for the holiday season. They each rented out their rooms to each other only this website is slightly different. You do not need a mutual partner =)

You can browse through among many rooms for rent and just choose which is the most suitable according to the descriptions. They even have pictures!! Very convenient right? How I wish I knew about this website earlier! It would make my trips so much easier and cheaper!

There are rooms for rent all across Malaysia!! They even have houses for rent. How cool is that =)

The best part is that you don't have to handle payments on your own. You would have to use their payment system to prevent fraud. As a law student, I would say this is the safest kind of payment so that you do not have to engage with the other party yourself and risked getting cheated.

However the locations for short term rentals are quite limited. For example in Perak, it only has one place listed. The most locations is of course from Selangor LOL

Anyway, I would definitely be using this website in the future to rent rooms for short vacations. It's a very useful website...Do check it out *wink*

Divorces

So many married couples are ending up in divorces these days...It's really sad to hear =(

The latest casualty is the beautiful Liz Hurley and husband Arun Nayar.

They were once married in a lavish ceremony in India. And now, they're separated! It seems they have been living apart for quite some time already.

Next is Jennifer Carpenter and Michael C Hall are filing for divorce

The Dexter co-stars only got married less than 2 years. Now, it'll be awkward acting alongside each other in Dexter, right? Especially when they are playing brother and sisters in the show XD

Well, moving on to unmarried couples, if rumours are to be true, Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens are heading for splitsville =((

But they look so cute together!!! They have been dating for around 5 years I think. I hope it's not true.

And here we are now in Malaysia, having a 14 years old girl going to get married. I mean if adults with mature thinking are all ending up in divorces, what makes her think she's ready for marriage??

Besides, if she were to get pregnant, what about her studies? Wouldn't it get disrupted? Don't get me wrong, I'm not against anyone getting married at a young age, because some do actually ended up being happy, but all I'm saying is that at 14, that is definitely not the age to get married.

When we're all 14, we were still crushing on some cute guy/girl, worrying about exams, having fun and being playful and not thinking about getting married, how to pay the bills or worrying about starting a family XD

But anyway, I hope she finds happiness in marriage!

On a nicer note, Nicole Richie just got married to the father of her two kids, Joel Madden!

Let's hope this marriage will last!! Because somewhere out there, I still have hopes for happy endings =))

The Royal Family

                                                     Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles

Wasn't is a surprise to hear that Prince Charles and his wife's car was splattered with paint a few days before?? Especially when it's on The Star's front page!

I mean these are the royal family...I wonder if the same incident were to happen in Malaysia, what would the culprits fate be?? I better not say XD

On the other hand, I'm a big fan of Prince William and Kate Middleton. They both exude elegance, romance and just good vibe =)

                                                              A match made in heaven!

With their upcoming nuptials next year, it sparked a lot of buzz lately. She would look really beautiful in a wedding gown! Can't wait to see their wedding pictures!!

Hiatus

All TV shows starting this week are on the Christmas hiatus break =( Boo-hoo!!

So, what am I going to do now? *laughs* Without my daily dosage of drama, I would feel totally bored XD
Oh well, there's still facebook, classes and more shopping to keep me occupy I guess =p

Anyway, before Gossip Girl goes on hiatus the last episode for this year had the newest song by Nelly- Just a Dream. One thing I like about Gossip Girl is that they always have popular songs being played at the background.

Above is 'Just a Dream'. Since youtube doesn't allow embeding of other videos,
click HERE for Far East Movement's 'Like a G6'
HERE for Jason Derulo's 'Whatcha Say'
and HERE for Lady Gaga's Bad Romance

It is from Gossip Girl that I started liking those songs. I love it when TV shows premiere such songs!! More TV shows should follow suit =)

RAPUNZEL

I've been waiting so darn long to watch a fairytale animation like this!

Loved the whole story and all the adventures =)) I especially loved the super long blonde hair. Super long is an understatement by the way!

                                                                 My favourite scene!!

The scene above is super romantic and so beautiful. If you see closely Rapunzel's hair is beautifully tied in a pigtail with flowers around it. I want that hair too!!

Frankly, I don't really know how Rapunzel's tale started and ended. All I know since small is that she had very long hair. Now, the whole tale although modified is told very nicely in this movie and fairytales like this should be made into more movies to make us believe sometimes 'happily ever afters' exist after all *laughs*

Girls will definitely love this movie. I was never a fan of animation but fairytales are an exception! <3

A trip to the dentist

I don't know why but I feel seeing the doctor is more nerve wrecking than seeing a dentist.

Have you felt so? Well, probably because if the dentist wanted to do something to your teeth, it is not as painful as a doctor doing something to your body, right? *laughs*

I mean how painful or scary can scaling, patching up a cavity or fixing a gum problem be? Rather than getting an injection at your arm, swallowing tons of medication due to fever or finding out that certain pain at your abdomen can be something big like cancer or what not! *touch wood*

So, I really feel going to the dentist have less pressure than going even for a check up at the doctor's. I mean the worst that can happen when you see a dentist is that your tooth cannot be saved and have to be pulled off. There's nothing life threatening about it!

I went to the dentist today after 3 years due to some cavity. It must be all those chocolates I have been eating lately LOL...Anyway, I found myself being very calm even when the doctor was doing whatever he was doing with my tooth =p

I was definitely calmer than I was 10 years ago. See, this dentist knows me way back. When I was around 9 or 10 years old, I had to pull some teeth to make way for my new teeth to come out. Back then, whenever I step foot in the dentist's room, I will start shivering and won't even open my mouth for the dentist to see *laughs* My mom had a hard time persuading me for the dentist to check my teeth.

After much bribes and much persuasion, I finally gave in. But there was once I threw a terrible tantrum, my mom had to bring me back because there are other patients and the dentist cannot 'layan' me for so long haha

So yes, after 10 years, I found out going to the dentist is not so scary after all *laughs* But of course, I don't intend to go to the dentist in the nearest future however un-painful or un-scary the experience may be =p

Products I swear by...

I'm definitely a girlish girl and you cannot find a more feminine girl other than me among my friends =p Yes, I do mix well with guys and I do sporty stuffs like jungle trekking but at the end of the day I'm still that girl who is so obsessed with PINK, it makes everyone crazy, prefers wearing dresses rather than t-shirt and trousers and loves shopping too much till being nicknamed 'shopaholic'...

So, naturally I would also love products that enhance my feminity, so to say *laughs* As the title suggests, I do have certain products I swear by and use very often...

Firstly, I so very love the perfumed body lotion by Calvin Klein called Euphoria blossom

Not only does it smell so nice, it makes your skin soft and supple. It's not patchy and not sticky at all! At the first application, the scent may seem quite strong but after awhile it will just be a hint of flower blossom smell lingering around your skin =)
Very recommended for girls who love scented lotion *smiles*

I cannot get enough of perfumed stuffs LOL I love perfumes...Sometimes when I'm sick of my own perfumes, I will sneak through my mom's closet to use hers =p I love varieties!

Among all the other different perfumes I have, the best one is Ralph Lauren. The perfume doesn't have a different name and it's named after the brand. The smell is a blend of fresh floral and fuits. It's not too strong and very light. It's just nice for a young lady =)

Of course I don't mix the body lotion and the perfume together or else people will be wondering whether did I just pour the whole bottle of perfume on myself LOL The smell will be too strong and instead will create a pungent smell *laughs*

Besides that, I also use Garnier Aqua Defence Essence..

This moisturiser is in a form of gel- it's what I like best! I dislike using moisturisers because others are in a form of cream and it feels sticky on my face. This one, however, does not and it work wonders. It's like putting a whole load of water on your face =)

Enriched with anti-oxidants, Fruit Waters and Vitamin E, it claims to build an invisible barrier on your skin which instantly replenishes moisture and repels external aggressions and free radicals. I was once badly sunburnt after coming back from a beach holiday and it cured my sunburnt after putting it as a night gel for only three days! It really replenishes your skin moisture and hydrates the skin well.
The best part is that it's very affordable and won't cost more than RM20 in any shop =)

Lastly, I cannot live without my lip balm!!!!

Mentholatum lip ice lip balm is the best so far!! I've tried other brands and I found out lip ice's lip balms are NOT too moisturised and slippery where it can break easily. This lip balm is the perfect moisturiser for my lips. I always put it before I put lip gloss so that it'll last! Besides, it also acts as a sunscreen! Among all other flavours, I love lemon =)

Well, these are the products I really live by so far. No kidding!! I'm sure many of you out there who have certain products that you really stick to as well especially girls. We girls tend to have many products lingering round our rooms because we have so much features to take care of like our face, skin, eyes, lips, legs and the list goes on *laughs*

The social network

The Social Network movie was fantastic if you're a facebook addict! And I'm sure many of you out there are addicts =p

It was a very intriguing story on how facebook came about- the origins and the creator. It was very informative...I mean all of us facebook without knowing actually who is the creator, how he created it and why, right?

We just use it because most of our friends or rather all of our friends are facebook-ing. But this show provides an insight on how it all came about. Mark Zuckerberg, the creator went through many ups and downs and a few law suits later turn out to become a successful entrepreneur that he is today(mostly because of us spending large amount of time on his website *laughs*)

I highly recommend this movie. It'll be a whole new world when you come out of the cinema knowing so much about the website you're so hooked at for the past years!

New toilet

You know how it is when a new toilet is just built and everyone wants to see how clean and nice it is? Well, the very same applies to supermarkets.

Giant, Kemuning Utama just opened yesterday(2nd December) and boy were there 'giant' amount of people. It was ridiculous! Like people haven't seen Giant before and were buying trolley load of stuffs *laughs*

I, for one really hate human traffic and because whicever part of the supermarket I went, I was pushed around. And I was there at 10pm and there were still thousands of people buying stuffs! What the! Therefore, I decided not to buy anything because the queue was super long and just went into a magazine shop and read some magazines LOL

This is what I call the 'new toilet' syndrome =p Just about everyone wants to experience first hand how the new Giant was- even ME!

Well, morale of the story is, don't ever go to some new supermarket on the very first opening. Go at least on the second day because guess what? The 'new toilet' syndrome dies off on the second day and now there is a significant drop in traffic around Giant today *laughs*

World Aids Day

Every 1st of December is World Aids Day. Today is the 1st and in conjunction with World Aids Day, celebrities out there in support are officially DEAD! Digitally dead at least XD until they raise US1mil for the 'Keep a Child Alive' charity.

The campaign is normally symbolised with a red ribbon.

This day is to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS and to help stop the spread of HIV. So stop having random unprotected sex!

HIV is a virus which causes AIDS(a disease). Of the 33.3 million people living with HIV globally, 2.5 million are children under 15 years of age. An estimated 370,000 children were newly infected with HIV in 2009. Further, it is estimated that more than 1,000 children are newly infected with HIV every day. More than 90 percent of HIV infections in children result from mother-to-child-transmission, where the virus is passed from a mother living with HIV to her baby during pregnancy, childbirth, or breastfeeding.

There is NO cure for HIV infection. Early infant diagnosis is critical, however. When anti viral treatment is administered as early as possible in the course of infection, it can only help children living with HIV lead longer, healthier lives.

Watch the video below:

Fight HIV/AIDS, people!
