Staycation @ Shangri-la with Horizon Club benefits

Just had a super awesome staycation at Shangri-la hotel, KL. We actually bought a flash sale deal which entitled us to a room at only RM344/night with Horizon Club benefits. But, the better part was that they upgraded us to a HUGE suite just for the two of us =) Yay, thanks Shangri-la!

When you enter, there is a working space with an attached bathroom on the side.

Then you come to the living room

After that, there is a master bedroom with adjoining bathroom
Look at this bathtub! Spaciousss!!

Thank you for the sweet gesture.

There were:
2 bathrooms; and
3 televisions (in the living hall, bedroom and bathroom)

for a couple who totally enjoyed the entire staycation hehehe

There are facilities which hotel guests are entitle to such as jacuzzi, sauna, steam bath and the gym. The gym was huge and filled with all working equipment.

The jacuzzi is so luxe!

The best part is enjoying the Horizon Club benefits at the Club Lounge.

You get to enjoy:
Breakfast buffet
All-day coffee, tea, chilled juices and soft drinks
Afternoon tea (3:00pm to 5:00pm)
Evening cocktails (5:00pm -7:00pm)

There's quite a variety of alcohols to choose from so it's really value for money!

You have no idea the amount of alcohols we consumed during the evening cocktails haaha

Canapes are served during afternoon tea and refreshed during the evening cocktails so you really are being pampered with a variety of food here.

Then, there's a swimming pool to cool yourself down

Or enjoy the spa. They had a promotion for the spa with buy 1 and get 2nd at 50% off so we took the offer.
The therapist is probably one of the best I have encountered. The techniques and massages were relaxing and healing. I had some joint pains and I was totally cured off it after that.

Buffet breakfast for one hahaha

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. I stayed in Shangri-la some fourteen years ago and I forgot how good the experience was. The hotel does look old but don't be fooled by the exterior with the warm smiles, friendly services, awesome food and luxurious facilities inside. The whole check in process was smooth and although there were many people that weekend, they had enough staffs who were proactive and many servers at the Club Lounge to cater for the spike of guests.

Since it's CMCO period, housekeeping is done without the guests in the room and if you need anything, just whatsapp them. They were super efficient in replying my whatsapps and very polite too. We had no complaints at all and really enjoyed our stay the entire weekend. Trust me when I say they have good service because we really judge a place by its service not its facilities actually haha We have been to 5 star hotels with terrible service and would not return. Safe to say, Shangri-la is definitely on my come-back list.

On a sidetrack, what to do when you're in the middle of KL and you're initially from KL? LMAO

The hotel is very near Changkat, Bukit Bintang and since we do not need to drive, we could go all out drinking hehehe We walked to Changkat (around 8 minutes) and bar hopped the entire night

Was probably not sober the entire weekend LOL

Another place nearby is a lane full of restaurants at Lorong Raja Chulan. We walked around and was interested with the menu at Pier 12 Seafood Tavern.
They had a promo of RM10 per glass cocktail. Look at that portion, so worth it

I had chilli crabs and although it doesn't look like the normal gravy type, but it was so juicyy and delicious. Very fresh and the server even cracked it open for me(saved my husband from the hassle). Love love love and RM120 for this which I think is reasonably priced for restaurants in the heart of KL.

My husband ordered lamb meatball pasta and the server told us it's tomato base and we wanted the pasta to be spicy so he said he will inform the chef. We didn't know what to expect as it's our first time but the chef totally delivered! The pasta came out spicy and really like how we wanted and we were delighted they adhered to our request.

Good view directly facing Menara KL. We were seated at the bottom but we saw people going up and the server asked us whether we wanted to move upstairs after we finished our food and we did.

Dessert to end the night.

The overall experience was a great one. The server was proactive and friendly. And you know what? They do not charge service fee so if you're happy (like us), tip the server. Again, service was the highlight and we always like a good service.

Shangri-la is also near Pavillion and KLCC shopping centres. We decided to go KLCC this time. A bit quieter than Pavillion during the CMCO period.

We dined at Two Sons. It's been a long time and I miss their clams.
Chilli buttercream clams. So yummy!

Bread bowl from the All day Breakfast menu.

So, if you're looking for food options around your staycations at KL, hope these helped hehe
