The launch of authentic Taiping local coffee brand- OLDMASTER Coffee was held at One Utama Shopping Centre on 28th February 2020. All the way from Taiping using roasted coffee beans made in-house to deliver an authentic experience to KL-ians.
The name OLDMASTER is a word translated from Malaysia Minnan dialect called 'Lao Tao Qiu' which refers to a professional Master in an industry. Mr. Ng Ho Heap, the founder of Chuan Heong Coffee Mill started roasting Nanyang coffee beans since 1959 and is now considered one of Malaysia’s oldest and most experienced coffee roasting masters.
It is with this firm belief of delivering excellence that the father-son duo, Mr. Ng and his successor, Steve Ng in year of 2015 launched a proprietary specialty coffee brand in Chinese named as “老头手” has renamed as OLDMASTER New-Nanyang Coffee in 2019. In the following year, Mr. Ng Ho Heap has created own signature coffee - "Premium Gold Coffee" which has won a lot of recognition from the coffee lovers. It is also the first coffee mill in Taiping to win the 2018 Nanyang Siang Pau 95th Anniversary Outstanding Business Award (Excellence Brand Award). This recognition is in adherence to the company's new concept of Nanyang Coffee, simultaneously affirming the quality of OLDMASTER coffee without any fragrances or chemical preservatives added.
Shoppers were curious with the sound of drums in a shopping mall and it was coming from the front of the OLDMASTER outlet.

Must try is the Signature Cheese Horkasai. A new specially formulated cocoa- flavoured coffee blend topped with a foamy layer of cream cheese that is salty, sweet, creamy and most importantly yummy.

This outlet really feels like that old coffee shop where you have breakfast with family. Only this one is at a shopping mall with the comfort of air-cond. My personal favourite has to be the cheese series for coffee lovers, limau kasturi for non coffee lovers and corn hiang piah flavour.
