The annual Academy Awards had many big names on the red carpet with designer gowns. This year, subtlety seems to be the theme as no one really came in an elaborate gown. Many kept it simple.

This is her first time at the Oscars and she took home the Best Supporting Actress for her stint in 12 Years a Slave. She's not only an Academy Award winner but a winner on the red carpet as well. The dress is flowy and the baby blue suits her skin tone so well and she has been a favourite on the red carpet ever since award season started.
Lady Gaga has really cleaned up her fashion sense and seen here wearing an Atelier Versace dress. Love how it is structured and fits her perfectly!
Kristin Chenoweth in Roberto Cavalli. Another mermaid dress which suits petite people like her well. It's a perfect fit without drowning her small frame.
