I'm a newfound fan of Daisy Lowe. This British model is the daughter of Pearl Lowe and Gavin Rossdale(now Gwen Stefani's husband) and at only 21, she's a muse to Karl Lagerfeld and modelled for top brands and walked the runway for Burberry, Louis Vuitton, Vivienne Westwood and many many more!
She's a bit of a rebellion rocker chic with too much black eyeliner on and not the typical skinny model you see on runways.
She's such an inspiration as being a model, she does not conform to the 'size zero'. She says she's happy being the 'oddball', refusing requests for her to lose weight. And she wants to influence her young fans in positive ways.
Last year she collaborated with Morgan de Toi, in which she designed her own line. When asked to hire models for the campaign, she refused and solicited her friend's help for the project. Real women in front of the camera launched the line and maintained Daisy's morale.
Lowe told WWD in an interview about the collection: “I love women with bigger bottoms and larger thighs. I think it’s so sexy … I’m not big in any way, but I do have a womanly shape rather than the normal model size … so I had to make sure that [the clothes were] flattering to that shape.” Well said!
