Katy Perry toned down a bit from her usual OTT fashion. Even her hair is jet black, and not blue or purple or pink. However, a little colour print is still visible on her sheer mermaid Ellie Saab dress. Nevertheless, thumbs up for her dressing! Her 'Wide Awake' video won Best Art Direction.
Rihanna will always add a sexy element to her dresses. If it's not a plunging neckline, it's a plunging back like this Adam Selman white dress. Together with her cropped hair, she actually does look good and she pulled it off effortlessly. She won the biggest award of that night; Video of the Year for 'We Found Love'.
Another singer with a cropped hair, Miley Cyrus who recently chopped off her long locks and went with a mohawk. The low cut Pucci gown with sheer panels looked a bit matured on her but her hair made up for it as it made the look edgy.
Taylor Swift went a 180 degrees turn with a pantsuit for the VMAs. That was very surprising since she always turn up with feminine gowns. However, it's a good change. The white J.Mendel suit fitted her to perfection! She performed her latest song, 'We are never ever ever getting back together' on stage.
Nicki Minaj also toned down from her weird frocks to this Versace jumpsuit. It's acceptable and presentable since most of her looks are very extravagant. She won Best Female Video for 'Starships'. I'm hooked on that song!!
